Artists WANTED [ Unpaid ]

Hello. I need an artist for unpaid webcomic collaboration. Personally i want it to be a serious long-term project, so i want the artist to be commited/not quitting halfway.
But i'm also interested in doing a short-term project like doing a one-shot/short stories for the experiences.
If anyone interested, please show me some examples of your current artstyle/artwork.

You can't expect a serious commitment, if you can't respect. An artist's time commitment.

It should not be assumed that just because someone wants to do a project not for profit that they are being disrespectful to artists everywhere by asking if one artist, somewhere, might want to collaborate on that project.

Having said that, though, I think you will have much better luck in a short-term, one-shot project. That will give a writer and an artist the chance to see how well they work together, rather than expecting someone to commit to a long-term project with someone they may not work particularly well with.

Speaking from personal experience, I'd like to advise you: don't micro-manage the art. Let the artist do what they do best. You can always come to a compromise and work something out later, and you'll be more likely to get a better end product.

It also helps very much to outline ideas you may have had for these projects when posting that you'd like a collaborator. That'll help potential contributors assess whether or not it is in their particular wheelhouse.

@blackhime749, art is very time consuming and if you want someone who is committed to your work that won't be hard to find because there are a lot of talented artist on this site however if you cannot offer money then you should try and think of something else that may incentivise an artist to work with you. I'm sure that you care deeply about your stories and ideas but it's very unlikely an artist will care right off the bat so perhaps giving more information about you story and plans for the future will help. Also I think more people would be comfortable with doing very short term projects for free which involved more of a 50/50 creation/ownership.

Most people work 8 hours a day. Do you? If so, do you get paid?

You are not going to get a committed artist to this, because as soon as a paying job comes along, they will drop this one. Writers all over the Internet have told this sad tale over and over again.

If you were just asking for an artist, that's fine.

But asking for a "committed" artist to work for free shows no respect for their time. For what reason should they be committed?

You're simply not going to find someone. At least not at the quality level you're expecting, seeing as how you're looking for a long-term commitment.

You have to realize that to do a good comic page, I, as an artist, have to:

1) Thumbnail it a few times to get a good perspective
30secs-10 mins avg

2) Sketch out the thumbnail, molding a page until it's roughed out to your liking
30mins-3 hours avg

3) Pencil it out
Half-Day-All Day

4) Scan it, digitize it, extract blue lines, etc
Quarter of a Day

5) Ink, Outline
All Day-Two Days

6) Render/Detail
Half Day-All Day

7) Color
Half Day-All Day-Two Days

8) Shading, lighting, Making the picture 'pop'
Half Day-All Day

9) Word Ballons/Text
Quarter Day

And I'm skewing on the low side. Personally it takes me an entire week just to pencil and ink a page. I don't have time for coloring, which I really should be incorporating into my comic if I want to retain viewership.

So you're asking ALOT when you say you're looking for a long-term, no-quit commitment with no pay. Because if you're lucky enough to find a kind soul who will help in your endeavor, they will literally be working their ass off for you.
