As a new member, with a novel, how am I supposed to get noticed on Tapas?

Hey there,
I am really new to tapas, like one day old. I have published the first chapter of my story but I am struggling to figure out how to get more readers? I have 1 view but I am pretty sure that's my own...
I know it's only been a day, but I am just trying to figure out the best course of action to be found by others! I use Wattpad a lot and know the key to success there is a great cover, updating every 2-3 days and being active in the clubs.

Are there any pro tips like that for here, specifically regarding novels not comics?

Engage and communicate more in the forums and the main web. Make friends, subbing to their story, and the like.

Talk and banter with other creators in the forums and supports their series with liking and commenting on their stories to get noticed, and if they would like to clicked on your profile, you might get a few more subs if it pique their interest. But one thing you need to consider is:

DON'T ADVERTISE YOUR STORY ON THEIR SERIES AND PROFILE COMMENTS PAGE.

It will come out as annoying and obnoxious to everyone since they use it as a way to engage with their reader and want you to comments about their story, not advertising 'your' story.

Also, in the forums, you can promote your series by making a new thread, or putting the links and description on the exiting thread (just search novel). There's quite s lot of novel only thread where you can post it, but don't over do it.

Ask for guidance and their opinions of your series, and you're expected to be able to take criticism when you're the one asking for it.

And I will say that this worked with both comic and novel.

You're new and still unknown, not to mention that the novel section is also a new addition I'm the tapas web, so take it easy.

I can't say that this is a 'pro' tips as I don't even have any daily reader (lol), but its something I know by engaging with the community, and the community is really nice, and who knows, it might worked.

I would stick to the posting every few days rule, and don't forget to say thank you to new subscribers if that's your thing. I have tried asking for suggestions on one chapter, but did not get much in the way of feedback, but it may work better for you, and I think I saw one writer that was the whole hook with a novel they had, so I would say it depends. I have found that just posting to threads that are for promotion are good for picking up subscribers, and starting your own thread about this good for finding readers and reading. Always a give and take with that.
I'm not sure really other than also be persistent and keep writing.

Advertise outside of Tapas. I recommend big forums like Reddit https://www.reddit.com/r/wroteabook/ or https://www.reddit.com/r/writing/ or other writing-centric sites like https://www.fictionpress.com and https://www.wattpad.com because simply relying on Tapas is difficult when visibility is low, especially for novels as quite a few readers still consider Tapas a mainly comic site. Grab the attention of readers there, then move them over to Tapas if you're trying to earn ad revenue or unlock tipping.

Make yourself known by connecting to readers and advertising here on the forums is a good idea since so many people are on here

Something I should mention is, schedule your updates for times you think people will be online! I find updating in late morning is a good time.

This is the best way to make sure more people will see what you're posting!

Also make sure to engage and communicate with readers as much as you're comfortable with - it's much more rewarding that way and you can get better feedback. Make sure you always do your best and seek constructive criticism to continue improving.

Time, engagement with the community, and self promotion are important here (basically what everyone has already told you). Novels are still a fairly new concept around here so it can take some time to build up a following. Stay active and you should see some progress

Also, I would recommend not getting to attached to your stats page. It can be very easy to get sucked into it and suddenly you feel like crap because your stats are telling you aren't doing well. Remind yourself why you are writing! The community is very supportive so if you ever feel like you are stuck, you have a support system.

Okay seriously, there will be people want help promote your if put yourself there. Podcasters, teachers, columnists for neighborhood newspapers and school newspapers, and even local radio show hosts all want to interview the home town novelist and-or cartoonist.
