As an artist were you inspired by Cartoonnetwork in any way to start drawing?

I was born a few years later than that, and I still grew up/remember all those shows.

They're pretty influential on my comics look. I love that late 90's/early 00's American cartoon look (the thick outlines, simple geometric designs, exaggerated cartoony expressions), and it's relatively easy to replicate, which is great for me, who lacks much drawing talent + wants to produce a lot of material in a short time frame.

They were very funny shows, I watched alot of TV as a kid, so I have alot of nostalgia and fondness for that art style.

I didn't watch Cartoon Network until I was like nine or ten. In Mexico most people just watched regular TV channels so we had Dragon Ball, Sailor Moon, Saint Seiya, Mazinger, The Simpsons, Dr. Slump, Cardcaptor Sakura, Ranma 1/2, Looney Tunes and all the Hanna Barbera stuff. Probably why my art style leans more towards anime.

I guess in some ways I was inspired by Xiaolin Showdown which did re-air on Cartoon Network. I also really liked the mentor aspect of Class of 3000. And also DBZ and Naruto if they also count.

I never got to watch any cable TV as a little kid besides, I was born late 2000s. I’ve only been able to watch any Cartoon Network shows in the last few years

I watched a lot of CN as a kid. It seems to come and go in waves. Sometimes it's good, and there's lots of good shows, other times it's just dreck and there's nothing to see.

I like the UPA revival art style, and I really admire how some artists can find the most distilled form of a character in that style. I can imitate it, to a degree, but it's definitely not my forte. Powerpuff Girls is my favorite from that era of CN.

Speaking strictly in terms of artistic and authorial inspiration, the two CN shows that have had the most effect on my work are probably Steven Universe and Samurai Jack. For SU I like the vibe and a lot of the in the moment things, but I strenuously disagree with the show on a philosophical and overall writing perspective. For Samurai Jack - it's so artistic, with such concentrated storylines. Probably neither influence is that apparent in my work at the moment, relative to other influences.

Well, since there are ways to re-watch these older cartoons, uh . . . No(?), I do not miss them. If I feel nostalgic, just re-watch them if possible. Draw fan art whenever I want.

I do miss how they scheduled television in the past compared to the last time I watched (not recently)

• Commercial breaks are better than streaming ads. When shows were aired on television, they were formatted and broken up with parts for nice commercial breaks. However, ads over streaming services are not "particularly" formatted so you may get a mood whiplash from an advertisement interrupting a scene, a song, or even a sentence, maybe intense staring.

• bonus -- the Bionicles commercials had really cool music!
  

• In the past, new episodes were typically released every week at a fixed schedule -- so that could be something to look forward to. Like Saturday morning cartoons. Occasionally, there were also crossover specials, marathons and movie events too. It not quite the same with streaming services since you just watch whenever, though some shows do have weekly releases.

Don't worry about it, since you were born in the late 2000s the golden era of Cartoonnetwork had already passed by then. Some people might try to argue against what I'm about to tell you but the truth is that Cartoonnetwork died when the anime block called Toonami was cancelled in 2006 or 2008

So don't worry about anything, all you need to do is enjoy anime now, Rising of the Shield Hero, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, Frieren or Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball Super, are all awesome anime to watch

I sort of relate to this. My family didn't have cable in the 90s, so I don't have much nostalgia for a lot of the 90s shows on Disney Channel and Cartoon Network. I do remember watching some Nick in the 90s, but that was because my friend had cable and that was the channel we usually watched.

During the 2000s: Bey Blade, Gundam, Zoids, Transformers, Justice League, Swat Cats, and Jackie Chan etc.

Zoids and the adventures of Jackie Chan were my most favorite!

I grew up on Cartoon Network as a kid. I loved the Powerpuff Girls and Dexter's Lab and would often draw the characters and later on draw fancomics of these characters as a kid. I'd adopt Genndy Tartakovsky and Craig McCracken's UPA Revival artstyle for my artstyle. While my style evolved beyond UPA Revival, the basis is still there.

I've also taking in a lot of DC's Batman Brave and the Bold, one of my favorite superhero comic shows.

I liked Dexter's Lab and I am Weasel.

Man, I Am Weasel! I love that show. I personally preferred it more than Cow and Chicken. It was such a funny and witty show and Michael "Worf" Dorn himself voicing Weasel was great!
