I super highly recommend Lazy Nezumi, ps, for anyone that's like "I want to make buildings, and I don't want to leave my drawing program." https://lazynezumi.com/
It's a smoothing tool but it also works in 3d space so you can draw like...the outline of 3 dimensional shapes but with a lot more intensity than the guides that come with clip studio.
It's not really for beginners, I just...I've been loving this tool for years now, and so I must share it because I think it's a well kept secret that industry people talk about, and no one else talks about. So, I gotta leave a little link to it for anyone else who's just like...at that point where they want to dive deeper into perspective, and they are comfortable and they know what all the terminology means, they just want an easier and faster way to set it up than booting up a separate program.
Like it's what I used for all of my short-story comic Bardsong, and I think it worked well with the style and the very, very, very short time limit I had to make the 150+ panels of the comic and finish it before the deadline.
But besides that, I'm always thinking of how to stylize my backgrounds, especially since I'm doing a phone comic now. When it's on that phone I really lose the details I make, but when I'm drawing the piece, I'm drawing on a full-sized 8.5 x 11 panel. So my inclination is to add more details but I'm constantly having to just zoom out and focus on bold shapes. I think I'm getting better at it with my newer stuff, but I've noticed my backgrounds are getting way more simplified the more comics I make. Anyone else?
