Basic Attention Tokens, get paid from people looking at your stuff

That is certainly one possible application of the concept behind the BAT platform and it's something I'm really excited about. It could mean a way for artists and writers to put their stuff out for free and also get paid for it. Which would also offer a real solution to piracy.

I haven't read too deep into it yet so I don't know if there's already a way to use it for comics, writing, etc. But I can't imagine it's going to go too long before there is. It's such an obvious, natural application of this.

I think it might actually ENCOURAGE piracy, in the form of content theft (people posting your content under their name to get Attention Tokens). There was that site called Tsu where people got paid for views/engagement, and that kinda theft was a significant problem.

Some users didn't even know it was wrong; they thought they were allowed to post any kind of content from anywhere to get money, even though the platform was meant for creators to post their own work!

Yeah that's certainly one possible issue however that might be rather difficult to pull off on a blockchain. If you've already uploaded your thing to the block chin such checks could be quite easy to automate. In addition, if an app on the platform were to be designed for creators I'd be assuming they'd be putting in some sort of fraud resistance for that very reason. I've heard tell that there's steps to create blockchain based intellectual property tracking to help prevent such fraud so I don't see why it couldn't migrate to this platform/concept.

Glad someone is talking about BAT. It's a great new alternative to ads in my opinion.
I've been posting on Steemit/Hive for 4 years now and had great return in crypto currency. I actually made a comic specialized interface for Hive so I'm hoping that will help some creators do the transition to a blockchain based platform.
