Best Social Media Outlets To Promote Novels

As the title says, which social media platform do you use that help a you promote your work and help gain new readers? I've never promoted my novels before on social media so I want to make sure I have some kind of idea based on your experiences.

Personally, I like Instagram a lot. It's orderly and you can easily change the aesthetic whenever you want. However, having apart your private with your official helps a bit. Though, don't promote the books all the time, is important to sell your persona first.

I've heard Twitter is the best and has the largest writing community. It is also a good place to find beta readers and the like. I, however, hate Twitter and use Instagram. It's so much cleaner. I don't know that it really promotes my novels, though I have followers who are readers, but it is a great way to connect to other authors and comic artists (who often are/become your readers on Tapas as well). And I agree on keeping a separate account for your author persona.

I have a twitter but its like screaming into the void. Im friends with a lot of authors but they are all on twitter trying to sell their shit. Everyone is trying to "sell" and no one wants to "buy", if that makes sense. Also twitter has an insanely low conversion rate. Few clicks, no sales.
