I know this questions has been asked before but I feel this topic needs a update:slight_smile:

I have been posting my comic Crime & Cars on Tuesday at various times. So far I can’t really tell which is the best. It feels like each my views just get less and less from the first time I posted my comic:/

I don’t really feel like experimenting since I only uploaded once a week but I figured I would just the ask the people who have:grin:

What’s the best time? What’s the best day? What timezone’s events do you correspond updates to?

Just so you know Im trying to maintain a 8 update (2 month) buffer, and I work in batches of 4 updates, which I can do in about 2-3 weeks depending on how busy I am

And also here’s my webcomic

As a newcomer to the platform, I find this an excellent question and I'm very curious to see what others say. Just chiming in with some observations I made from our series for now:

  1. Our updates on our Webtoon mirror are scheduled for release on the weekends for US-based viewers.
  2. Webtoon stats show PV (page views?) in terms of readers in the US so I figured it'd be a good baseline for posting schedules. Tapas doesn't seem to have the same stats so I'm not sure if it would apply here too.

Being the one in charge of our social media too, my posting times on the weekends accommodate hours people might be in school or at work during the day so we post later in the afternoons or in the evening. Other stuff I've read said posting on the weekends is a good idea too but I'm not sure if it'd apply to sites like Webtoon and Tapas as well.

Personally, I've never really noticed an optimal time. I just try to be consistent within my own comic.

I've heard people mention things like summer trips & school schedules can affect the majority of people that frequent the site, so maybe if you know about those you can work around that? Like, maybe friday evenings are best?

Again, I'm not sure if there's really a "good" time to post :frowning2:

The only thing I've found that's really consistent is that Saturday and Sunday tend to be low traffic.

I tend to avoid weekends because of this. I used to have a journal comic that updated on Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday, and Sunday was ALWAYS the slowest day, traffic-wise -- even though I had a few readers telling me they really appreciated having an update on that day, since most comics skipped it, the numbers didn't reflect that.

Some people like updating on slow traffic days, with the reasoning that their comic isn't competing with as many other comics.

Other than that, I've never noticed a difference that was strong enough to cater to.

I notice the same thing as shazzbaa for updating on weekends. That's when the traffic is always lowest for me as well. (I upload everyday) I still had readers of course, but it's always significantly less than other upload days.

From personal experience, I used to post my pages at 10 AM in my timezone, resulting in them being up at... 1AM US time. XD Changing the hours to the less awkward ones actually made a a difference, so timezones are important.
