Oh, agree to disagree with your assessment of the Little mermaid. I don't even like that movie all that much but I'm willing to defend it. I will say though that yea, Ursula plays a good villain. She entertaining and bombastic, and knows how to get what she wants; all pretty endearing qualities if you're looking to like someone who's not a good person. Which she isn't.
There are worse people than King Triton. Ursula, for example.
Maybe but also like, she's not trustworthy... like at all. I can't blame them for ostracizing her.
To be fair to Ariel, she's a naïve, curious, and openminded 16 year-old who wants more for herself than the ocean. Her infatuation with prince Eric is understandable. And her "stalking" Eric led to her saving his life, so it's not even like it was wholly a bad thing.
Yea but Ursula totally manipulated her. Like no doubt, intentional manipulation followed succinctly by intentional sabotage. Then she stole triton Trident and tried to killed them all.
Though I could be wrong about some thing, it's been a while since I watched the movie.
But undeniably so, she was a great villain, especially in comparison to her "heroic" (if they can even qualify as such) and lackluster counterparts.
