Best Way to Start On Tapas?

New to Tapas and I have a comic on webtoon. However, I really want to update it and place it on Tapas with updated art, text and a good backlog. It's a sci fi story, slow burn romance, adult language, blood/action/gore scenes (nothing too intense).

From your experience and if you had to restart your comic, how would you do it?

Is biweekly uploads okay? Should I do weekly?
Is it better to upload cover art as the first episode?
How many episodes should I upload at first for viewers?
What advice would you offer to someone who is first posting to Tapas in general?

My audience is more or so mature sci fi, so I know the pool of interest for it isn't that large. And I know it seems to be fantasy.

I just want to try and get a good head start for my comic. I also want to interact with other creators and get advice on it. Thank you for taking the time to read this and also to those who do comment below! <3 I'd also love to hear about other people's comics and their experiences with it!

Well, any option is good as long as you are happy with it, and can keep the new chapters going... but anyway, here are my thoughts!

• Biweekly? Weekly? - I submitt every 1 and 15 of a month, and that's fine with me because I submitt like 26 pages per chapter. If you want to appear more in the 'fresh' section, though, weekly would be better.
• Covers? - I do a new cover art for every chapter, because I want to challenge me to do it. There is people who only do one for the first submission, and others who submitt the same cover every submission. I suppose its depend on how many pages every chapter has. It doesn't have any sense to submitt 1 cover, 1 page, and then end the submitt of the week.
• How many episodes? - Enough to catch your viewers. If you work well with cliffhangers it can be any number of chapters, really.
• Advice? - Have patiente. Rome wasn't build in a day, and neither a follow. It may take time, but if you keep diligently posting the day you are supposed to, promote it on forums, discord, and other social media, people will come. Talk with people, and read other stuff, leave comments and likes and ink if you have. People is grateful.

I don't think it's insanely different than Webtoon, so if your schedule is working for you there, you could keep the same here.

If it was me:

1. Biweekly vs. weekly - I'd say weekly is better if you can manage to post enough content in a week. Otherwise biweekly is just fine too - readers should be able to remember what's going on at that pace.

2. I wouldn't upload cover art as the first episode if it's a vertical scroll comic. If it's page format, then I think it makes a lot more sense, though I'd still make the argument that you should jump right in. Every delay you add before getting to your story is chance for readers to decide it's not worth it before they try it.

3. When we launch our next comic, we'll be posting 3 episodes (with the first one maybe 1-3 times the usual length) off the bat.

4. Have fun and be patient. And your cover matters a lot I think.

• It depends on the type of story you are writing. A plot driven story would work better biweekly. However if you find this overwhelming, than just stick to once a week. Do not do 5 times a week, I did that starting out and it killed me.

• I usually put the series cover at the first episode and a cover before each chapter. I feel like this method allows readers to know when the last chapter ends and the next one starts

How many episodes should I upload at first for viewers?

• Upload at your own pace but sometimes when you get to a point, you can advertise it more. Like if you finished uploading chapter 2 you can promote your series by notifying that the chapter is complete so that binge reader can read it.

What advice would you offer to someone who is first posting to Tapas in general?

• Just do it!

• Also be mindful of your health and don't try to overwork yourself to insanity. Take breaks if needed because feeling mentally healthy is going to give you better work
