As an artist, what stretches can I do inbetween drawing to stay healthy???
I don't stretch specifically for drawing but I do aikido hand / wrist stretches daily and I've found that they really help keep me from getting wrist pain when working all day.
In addition to stretches, I also take breaks whenever I start feeling tension in my body so I don't overwork myself.
I don't really know any stretches, so I'm interested to hear what other people have to say.
My thumb in particular starts to hurt after too much drawing, so I try to take breaks, and not draw too much in one day.
I like to call these eyeball stretches! haha This is often overlooked, but eye movements are important! Here's a chart for different motions. Make sure to take frequent breaks if you're looking at a computer screen.
This is te hand stretch routine I've memorized: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hUyMNyrOHJQI try to stretch my hand every 25 minutes or so. I also get up every 25 minutes for a couple full body stretches. Don't have I don't really follow a routine for them - I just to what feels nice!
