Question here.
Is the character similar in appearance, behavior, story, abilities or other things that could be linked to the one from DC? If its only the name then... its not really that dangerous to use, besides it is an actual surname in the Real world (Like Harpist Abigail Kent) and even so, there is people who share the same name and surname even if they are not related nor from the same place in the world.
I believe it is not the same as with made-up names that could potentially get in trouble either as a brand especially if they share some elements.
The Kent surname is actually not that unique or made-up solely for a fictional character, considering it can be tracked in different countries such as USA, Canada, Scottland, Ireland and the UK. Its from Celtic origin based on a quick google search. There are variations of the surname such as Kente, Kentish, Kintish and Ceannt so in case you're still afraid you may get in trouble, you can always modify it a bit.
Still, I would say the following, if you're not well known enough nor have editorial contacts, I doubt you'll be sued by the big company itself, maybe some less powerful one that wants to get extra cash may attempt something since they tend to be the ones to aim for independent publishers, unless of course, you're mass producing merch (For example, in Japan, most of the time there aren't issues even if you make a fancomic/doujin, the only requirements is that it is your work and you don't mass produce or involve a benefitied third party, I think the limit was 200 printed doujins in one go, mostly for Comiket)
