I personally love seeing different thumbnails per chapter, etc

How many of you do it? What about cover art? Feel free to post your artwork too

My own story will have many evolutionary phases, so I plan on updating my cover art every 6~ months along with the thumbnail to feature a new character with every “chapter” of my novel. Does anyone else have any experience with this? Did you get any reactions, etc. Here’s the thumbnail of my first chapter. I just love seeing my characters get brought to life

I change my updates to have different thumbnails rotating between the characters.

I need to make like... 4 or 5 more.. Each head is a character from the novel  And they all have that little heart on their head

I don't think anyone care about my thumbnail.
I used to change thumbnail per 10 chapters (or an arc) in the old version, yet the new version has added/reduced parts so it does not end up like that. I have been meaning to redraw some art for thumbnail.

I think you’re giving yourself a hard time lol you’re a really good cartoonist! I really like that second cover with just his head

Webnovels have the ability to be so much more immersive, I think the more art we can provide, the better the experience for the reader, along with our own comments per episode, etc..

We do it for all three comics, and I have to say, it's actually a lot of fun trying to decide on the right eye-catching image to gain attraction to a page.

My original thumbnail was just a zoom in on my cover, which is this:

It's one of the pieces that I will be redrawing soon, as a part of my Prologue remastering. Looking forward to showing off my new inking skills when I tackle the roses and stuff ^w^

I actually really like my current thumbnail. It looks like this:

I love this character but unfortunately he won't appear for a long time in the series. So I enjoy having him in the thumbnail. I also think it helps add to the mysteriousness of his character.

Also, I've been doing chapterly cover art as well. This is my cover art for chapter one!

Low-key, I like different thumbnails. I’ve seen some people do some really cute and creative things, and I think it’s a nice touch! Not necessary, but fun nonetheless~

As for my own work, I designed my thumbnail icon with a “vinyl cover/sleeve” idea in mind (with some, uh, liberties lol) just for laughs, but I had so much fun making it that now I’m debating on making more with different colors/“characters” for each new arc, lmao. idk if anyone would really notice/care, but adasjkd; I like playing around in photoshop too much to stop :cry_01:

I like taking a scene from the novel chapter or a theme and using it as sort of a teaser. The good thing about it is that I can work on it quickly, an hour at most.

I tried doing a bit different style here since it eas meant to be a memory

That’s such a cool idea to feature a mystery character! Really cool Easter egg for your readers  That chapter 1 cover is beautiful too!

You just got an instant sub from me haha seriously, that’s such a cool idea. Huge vinylhead here  Do you do all the art yourself? And I feel the same way, I love seeing chapters/arcs separated by thumbnails, just an aesthetic thing

How about you keep changing the thumbnails as the chapters progress? I suggest you don't change the Cover Art because a lot of people remember your story by your cover art rather than name. I have faced a lot of difficulties before while finding the stories that I like because of the sole reason. Other than that, good luck!

When i began writing my series The Dark Children of The Night this was the original cover for it. However, as much as I liked it at the time, as I got older, I realized that it wasn't as good as I hoped it would. And I wanted to remake it into something better.

Atm i have used another drawing that I did for inktober last year yeah and added some fonts along with my name on it and it will serve as my temporally cover until the new one is done because the new one is far from being done.

Omg, thank you! :blusht:

And kind of? I mean, I do draw, but for these I just remix/retouch photographs I find on Unsplash until I get the right "psychedelic pinup" vibe lol. Does that count?

I get what you’re saying, and I’ll probably get a “finalized” cover art once my story is completed. I was inspired by the Transformers comic collections I used to have

Same logo position, just featuring a different character for each book/arc. I think it’s simple enough that there wont be too much confusion. Plus, my novel spans years, so it’s a great way to introduce new characters, update uniforms, etc.

Oh, I understand now! As long as you keep the cover similar, there shouldn't be any problem.

Btw, those are your treasures, aren't they? :smug_01: I bet if there's a disaster in my region, my collection will be the first thing I'll bolt with (I hope it never happens).
