Hi! I wonder if anyone else has encountered this... or if this is something I changed in settings a while back while playing around and forgot...
My brushes tip size seems to be relevant to each other but not the page. For example I have one image that is like 500x900 and the pen set to 1 seems smaller than an image at 5000x 11000 the pen set at 1 on the larger image is MASSIVE. It doesn't seem to make much of a difference if I change the DPI. Has anyone else encountered this? Does anyone have an idea how I can fix it? I usually only am able to use the .1 to 2 brush tips. Is this normal?
Thanks ~!

Okay, what's the size of your canvas in inches and what's the actual dpi?

Also make sure you aren't working in vector, this could be contributing to that (as I find Flash works that way where the pen size adjusts as you zoom to stay the literal same, I hate it lol)

Vector in Clip Studio doesn't affect this (at least it shouldn't), I usually use vector lines and they stay the same no matter how much I'm zoomed in. In clip studio it's basicailly just a regular layer except all the lines get converted into vector right after they're drawn

I notice that the pen strokes tend to get larger the more you zoom out of a piece; I use that tidbit in adjusting the line weight/depth of my art. I'm always using the raster layer.

This file is 16.67 in x 8.39 (10000 x 5033 pixels) at 600 dpi. I used a default pen. This is zoomed out at about 10% zooming in and out doesn't seem to make much of a difference to the size of the pen and sometimes image size doesn't either and sometimes image size does matter >_<'

Have you checked your tablet's drivers or sensitivity? Maybe reinstalling the tablet driver will correct it.

Also, since this isn't an issue with the Tapastic website or forums, I'm going to change the thread tag from Tech Support to Question so the staff doesn't fret over it.

When you use other brushes is it the same? If not reset that brush back to its default.

@CyndiFoster haha thanks-! Sorry didn't realize that 'tech problems' didn't refer to all tech problems blush Thanks all for the suggestions- I restarted my pc a couple times and it seems to be behaving a bit more like I would expect :\ So I'll just keep my fingers crossed ^^

Yeah, Manga Studios/Clip Paint tends to have weird issue with table drivers and such. Every now and then I have to reinstall my drivers inorder to get it to work. Good luck to ya!

Hm, I've had way more driver problems with SAI (mostly losing pen pressure) where I had to reset the driver settings, and only had it happen a few times with MS5 (using it for over a year) Then later I found out the tablet drivers were kinda broken (though not sure how long since that happened)... but it still worked fine in MS5 though. Could depend on what tablet you use though (I've only used Wacom, first a Bamboo Pen and Touch and now a Cintiq)

I may be too late though...

@UzukiCheverie had mentioned that pen size in Flash adjusted as you zoom and Clip Studio had that option too
I think that may be the problem... cause I experienced one when creating my own brush
You can choose not to have the brush size adjusted to zoom by accessing setting of brush called sub tool detail (located at the down right corner of tool property box)
If I'm not mistaken, you can uncheck 'specify by size' or something

Uhh, I'm not on my computer right now so maybe it's not accurate

If it's not the problem, I'll think up for some other solution
Hope it helps!

Thanks @nillsproject! I found that setting you mentioned but I have that unchecked thankfully. For whatever reason the higher the dpi the bigger the brushes are even at size '1'. So if my dpi is like 1200 on a 3000 x 3000 pixel canvas a size one brush is massive same at 600 dpi. However if I move the dpi to 150 or even 72 a brush set at 1 is significantly smaller. At 300 dpi a brush set to one is still too large so I just use 150 dpi as my default and hope that I won't need anything printed T_T

Hey @alicescommissions a kinda of yes and no to that. I found that if I played around with the DPI setting in preferences (File --> Preferences --> Canvas) and changed mine to fit my screen (mine ended up being around 109 dpi) and working with larger files. So now my canvases are usually 3000x 3000 or higher or I set my canvas dpi to like 150 or lower. Doing either usually allows for brush sizes to have better range. I'm not really sure why this is but those have been the work arounds that have worked for me.
