Not colorblind myself. Nowadays many video games have colorblind friendly options, why not consider it in the webcomic?
I found out, that contrast is the key, darker colors are more visible on brighter ones and vice versa. Especially when going lineless.
Also, Photoshop options:
Anything more I need to consider?
From what I know about doing design and making games for colourblindness, some guidelines I'd suggest are:
These will also make your comic easier to follow just generally for people with normal vision.
Mangas can't really rely on color indicators cause... well... they're manga. It has to be mentioned.
Like in TF2, or what it used to be, you can easily tell who's who, by looking at the outlines, before these dumb cosmetics ruined the clarity...
Manga uses value rather than colour to create contrast and show things like volume and distance. It's a good idea to avoid using too many similar screentones or mid-grey tones when making manga, not for colour blindness, but just general readability. (I actually used to make a lot of black and white manga style comics and have even placed in national manga competitions).
There are different types of color blindness.
If you are really concerned, you could just make your comic b/w or grayscale. If you want to use color, have black lineart so that the characters pop. And avoid having a story rely on telling the difference between a character who is grey vs a character who is in color.
