@gabriellabalagna how many pages are you expecting to finish? I enjoy your calm color palette
@IndigoShirtProd hey that's great!
I think I started to take more time to draw those strips, which is a terrible habit of mine, so I really need to try and cut it.
Yesterday I also started writing the script for episode 31 so part of the production process will be started for it before episode 30 will be published. I hope that’ll reduce the amount of time between episodes!
Since episode 31 will be an adaptation of scenes from the earlier comic version instead of being completely new, script writing will focus on just the new scenes, where to place them, and how to adapt existing dialogue!
Today I vectored two more panels and started a third. I took a short break to publish the story that went with one of my last drawings I made for Sketchtember last month.
@kelheor Hoping to finish 6 pages (3 spreads.) But they are already all partly done. Thanks about the colors!
@SynergyEclipse Yeah, it's nice to have the script started/ready to go.
Yesterday I vectored one of the next panels which has 3 characters in it and rendered the background for that panel. I also looked back at an earlier part of the episode and missed the shading on a couple panels so I went back to shade those.
Today I shaded two more panels near the end of the episode. Just three more need to be vectored and shaded. I’ll also need to manually adjust the widths of the line art on each panel to give it some variation before I export the episode.
It's going well for me, and I like posting about my progress! I put together my notes about my progress onto a page I’ll also publish on my main site about the production process! When it’s ready, it’ll show a lot of the steps that I do. I wanted to write about that anyways, and this challenge was the perfect opportunity!
Glad you're enjoying writing about your progress!
When you write your post about it send it to me. I can add a link to your post in my article regarding the Comics Challenge to help promote you. Only if you want though.
Well I sketched one strip I ended up not doing today, but I will have a sketch I won't need to do later x)
Was mostly lining Hexameron today and published today's strip a bit too late, but still!
Unfortunately, the comic doesn't do too well on my Insta, but I was also absent for a couple of months and never posted something like this, so it's okay, it's not like I expected good social media results from it (if I wanted that I would totally go for Fantober again xD).
I do enjoy checking up with you guys here, it's really encouraging!
Some today's Yara
I been watching this all month and like 1st of all Proud of Y'all for sticking to this and getting shiz done, even if it isn't as much as you want some days and even if you don't post every day, Y'all doing it and that's baller
So I been in this creative bubble lately and haven't even been sharing what I have been up to, but I wanna so I will.
I'm doing a collab with a friend about a merman and his fashion photographer boyfriend having a communication breakdown after she went hard on a prompt I laid out in book club. I fell in love with these two she described to me and had to draw their story out and then I was like, might as well try my hand at scroll format, so that's what I been up to this month.
I have what they look like
The sketchy sketches
Hey @Lady_T_Musings great to see you here!
Read your other thread and it's really awesome to see you being all out with new ideas! ^^
Today's update. Will try to do more tomorrow, hopefully will sketch a couple of strips. Oh, I need to think about the art for Sunday too!
@Kelheor Too bad it doesn't do as well as you like on social media. Maybe you could try a different platform or a video format? IDK.
@IndigoShirtProd Sending some positive energy your way, hope your weekend goes great and sketching uplifts your mood!
@Lady_T_Musings Very sweet of you! Yeah, I know what you mean about creative bubble, I get like that sometimes too.
@simonitropunk Okay, I love the person flipping in the bottom panel. Also, how all of these panels have a good sense of motion!
Glad to see more people joining and making progress on their works!
@Lady_T_Musings That collab looks exciting!
@simonitropunk Nice action scene! It looks very dynamic!
@gabriellabalagna A panel for the day is still progress! Taking time off to recharge is better; I learned that the hard way after I used to overexert myself a lot!
I meant to post this yesterday since time slipped by me!
Yesterday, I rendered the background of the doors to the auditorium opening for a panel that’ll show a group leaving when the show’s over!
This is for one of the last panels for the episode! Putting in the group will be tricky so I put several modeled people figures by the door in another render of this background to provide a reference for the perspective and scale. I blended that render and one for another background.
