Comics or novels with DRAGONS? 🐉

Ever since I played The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning as a little kid, I've always LOVED dragons! They're obviously the best fantasy creature. RIGHT!!!?

Anyway, I know lots of ppl creates a different perception of dragons in their own fantasy stories- sometimes their MONSTROUS, FEROCIOUS BEASTS who TEAR DOWN VILLAGES.... or sometimes they're the scaly sidekick to the protagonist's endeavors! If your comic or novel has dragons, how do you write them?

In Dragonfinder..... dragons are a bit of a mystery! So far, we know that each Kingdom seems to have a different relationship to the long-extinct creatures... the rainforest Kingdom looks back on them fondly for their gentle and intelligent nature, while the coastal Kingdom of Las Bonita only seems to recall destruction and chaos caused by them! Perhaps the truth will be revealed later on?

JTA is actually a very dragon centric world (literaly, but this joke will only make sense much later in the story)
A significant deal of the lore of the world revolves around them and their relationship to kin and other races of the world. Though I cannot mention to exactly what extent without dabbing into spoiler territory.

Dragons here are fully sentient, so you will find as much diversity in them as you will find in regular people (albeit normal people can't raze a whole city block on a fit of rage), some are good and some are evil, some are well know rulers of nations while others live in complete secrecy, blended into society, some are people lovers while others are tyrants.
And you will get to see a lot of that diversity as the story goes on.

Also one of the main trio is a dragon, wether he is the mean bully kind, or the 'pet of the group' really depends on his mood for the day, but I think anyone with any appreciation for dragons and their majesty will find a lot to love in Azreth and his antics. ^^

Depending on how you feel about what actually constitutes as a "dragon" this comic may or may not be up your alley!

We have the best boi Ralh who ive been told by many readers is - indeed - the best boi (and possibly best husband)

My comic has some dragons! None on the main cast unfortunately (it'd be seriously hard to fit them in most indoor locations), but they're hard working, magical people in this strange world of Aeolia too! Might even be about to introduce a new one in a few pages.

Jade Kingdoms is based on the Vedic story of Vritra, and my novel follows his descendants. This ain't my novel's cover (its my patreon comic) but the head of the dragon looked like this, bitch has six arms too XD

I love dragons too!! They're my favorite fantasy creature! The protag's alias from my novel is "Red Dragon". Buuuut it's quite possible there may be a lot more to that than just being his alias though...

If we're talking Dragons (which I'm all in for), then I have the character for you. Granted, I'm certain you mean literal dragons rather than a human embodying a dragon, but to me, I'd write them the same even if they were a full on Dragon. So I might be pushing it with this one. Whether they look human or not, whether they are human or not, a Dragon is a Dragon.

Long Xiaolian, the Azure Dragon is disciplined and prideful. Strong in mind, body and spirit, but short in stature. The youngest character in the series and naïve to the real world. Holding their clan in high regards and, as their successor, holds themselves to a high standard. I wrote them as a dual protagonist with Omari Osei, the Scarlet Spellcaster, intending to have the two opposite each other. A Dragon on a Worldwide Crusade with room to grow and Revelations to Experience.

Of course, where there's 1 Dragon, many will follow. With the ability to invoke 5 Dragons based on the Wu Xing Elements and themed on different depictions of Dragons throughout the world, I intend for Xiaolian to fully embody the themes, imagery, tones and prestige that Dragons carry.

Xiaolian will not be the only Dragon I design by a longshot, but for now, they're taking center stage.

I have two comics with dragons X3

First is Mythic Mayhem which has the small and feisty Goch, a young welsh dragon who keeps Gwydion company as he spins his tales.

Then there's Makna the loyal Land dragon steed and sass queen. She will demand carrot sacrifices. More dragons, drakes and wyverns will show up in the comic further on.
