Comics that connect?

hi again everyone! I tend to randomly think of different things every now and then, However, as I look through the comics on this site, I was wondering: Does anyone have a comic that connects? in other words does anyone make a comic, and have another comic that possible connects to characters of another comic?

I do it with mine, I have a bunch that connect here and there but I have yet to actually draw all of them, I do write them out plot wise/chapter wise short summaries so I know what to do.

I wanted to share mine, but I'm not sure if anyone else out here does that? I'd love to hear about yours if anyone out there has one like that.

not sure if anyone does, so the question may never get an answer but I was curious.

as a side note... my Tumblr (my comics are on there too, but unedited.) is short to non on the news feed, anyone have an interesting tumblr out there so I can be entertained I'd love to have the links. I don't have much coming up on my Tumblr art wise.

You mean a shared canon universe?

^^ That's what I plan to do with my comics :3 I always like the idea that things are connected no matter how different of a world or universe characters are in.

I suppose that is a better way to say it. but yes a connection to another story/ cannon.

really? that's wonderful to hear! I was wondering if anyone out there did do that. I love that idea but I wasn't sure if anyone did I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one!

Having a shared cannon would be super cool, just super hard to maintain. idk if there are any on Tapastic but that would be awesome!!

I have a whole bunch of comics that all take place in the same universe that will sort of connect. So far I've only published on (The Bio War) but they all take place in the same apocalyptic alt-WWII universe. They're a prequel to a short story I wrote in eighth grade that was a part of a much larger network of short stories I've been working on for years that are all a part of a massive multiverse, each one captured on its own in a different medium but culminating in the story I drafted in ninth grade that nobody has seen but me that I will hopefully some day publish in some form or another.

I'm actually just about to start work on Page 1 of New Nuclear Republic, which will be the next comic in the same universe as The Bio War.

A shared cannon would be terrible. What if one of the co-owners of the cannon shot the other ones with it? Then he'd have the cannon all to himself. On the other hand, a shared canon is awesome. Multiple plot lines all converging and diverging sporadically and incentivizing readers to go see the other plotlines unfold on their own. So cool.

I love the idea of one big connected universes! It really gives things life when you've got two different stories going on in the same universe. My two comics, Destiny Awaits and Royal Pain are actually connected more indirectly. Royal Pain is set earlier in time, and the events that happen actually form a lot of the culture in Destiny Awaits o3o It's like a really complex prequel

I plan to add references to it in future chapters too!

I totally agree. It would be so hard but AWESOME. You could have so many great cameos!

In a way all of mine could take take place within the same universe, 'WYIHN' and 'Void' legit take place in the same world, with some of the same characters; but 'Void' takes place 5+ years later in a different setting. The bigger story I want to start putting to paper takes place within a universe filled with several gods who create their own worlds/solar systems, with different walks of life, so not only does every fantasy story I create canonical to this universe; in a way the two projects I'm working on now can also fit within that same universe.

Whether it's a silly idea or not, it's still fun to execute, especially making stories within different timelines in that universe that also have an affect on the stories taking place later on.

Although I've only got one comic live, I'm planning an entire series of different comics that all take place in the same universe. I spent more than 10 years planning the world, and now I have a ton of stories to tell in it. Histories, cultures, mythologies, world changing events, etc...

I am actually in the pre-production stage for a second comic, and it should start going live within a few months. The second comic has a different stylistic choice and a different genre (horror).

I actially got the idea from pacthesis on dA. She used to make dating sims that connected through a visual novel about two guys that went on a crazy adventure trying to find a necklace that transported them throught the sims.

Hey! I would like to plant the NO-Earth flag in this thread!

NO-Earth is a shared universe with multiple creators all doing comics set in the same setting, and with some crossover of storylines and characters. We've currently got 4 titles going and more are on the way. It's going to be a connected webcomic world by some really talented creators.

Starts with:
I'm sorry Simon
Then it continues on with those characters and go into
Achilles Heel
and that crosses over with
Someday
hahah though I'm not sure if that's what you mean...
Though it sure can be hard to keep track of who is doing what or which pages are direct cross over. But its fun, I totally recommend it!

@Alamino It is somewhat what I was talking about, I think it goes a lot of ways. but basically: one story may end, but it contiues with the characters (older or younger) along with new ones, or it is when you may reference to some characters in another story. but that's basically the idea. ^-^

I do,
Likho and Two Faced have the same characters.
Likho is more a surreal story of the point of view of one character, I think of it as a side story.
Although the main story of Likho is in Two Faced, it's more detailed.

I saw part of your comic on my phone! it looks amazing! and thank you for sharing that. I love hearing what people have in comics that possible connect to each other. btw love that image there.
