Hello all,

I'm attempting an experimental match up where clients and artists fill out forms. How it works is that clients will get matched with 3-5 random artists based on matching criteria.

Clients will be able to review their matched artists portfolio and decide which one or some to commission!

CLIENTS FORM8 // ARTISTS FORM22

EDIT: thank you so much to all the artists; you guys are doing great! we just need a bit of a better push from the clients end!

What if I don't know how much I should charge since I simply doesn't know?

The idea is nice but I think there are too few criterion. I know it's just experimental, and you may have already though in adding more options in the future but prefer to start small to not have something too overwhelming and difficult to manage.

That being said, It would be nice to have the option to select commission type (full body, portrait, thumbnail, landscape, etc) and/or style (full color, black and white, line art, sketch) for better matching.

figuring out how much to charge is fairly simple. how long does it take you to do, say, a full colour bust? for every hour it takes you, charge minimum wage + however much extra you think your work is worth. personally, id go for ÂŁ10 an hour, but thats bc im a londoner and thats london living wage.

likelihood is, thisll come to a price you consider pretty high. and for a lot of people wanting to commission you, itll seem pretty high too - but its the only reasonable fee. you need to value your work yourself for others to value it. id only go down in price for mates rates, bulk commissions, or extenuating circumstances.

if you was to do commissions as your main source of income, youd prolly charge higher based on how many commissioned you got. my dad used to be a freelance gardener, and he had to charge ÂŁ20 an hour to make ends meet, he got like one or two jobs a week.

That's something to consider. I just have difficulties evaluating things, especially my own stuff ^^ . Plus I'm the kind of person who have low confidence, so I usually feel afraid and bad when I stated the price myself because I don't know the values.

I don't have a link to a commissions page... is it okay to just type it in?

unfortunately, it already is :sob: theres one client who is impossible to match up with, but so far its been 3 in total. (other two have been matched)

not to fret! just need to market this in the right places where clients might be interested
