these are nice! its great that theyre inspired by bass reeves after certain recent lone ranger adaptations. i really like the life in the hair especially, and the nose has really good form - particularly in the first drawing. the second one feels a little more manga-y some how? and maybe stiffer. dont be afraid to make that lovely nose stick out past the face when theres a 3/4 angle like that. you could also push the brow ridge further forward in the 3/4 angle, because his eyes look really deep set and it adds a lot of form and character.

Thank you for the constructive criticism! I see what you mean with the brows. I still have trouble with noses, I tend to hold back because I think they'll look weird or off.

fair enough, i held back too for a long time. maybe you could do with doing some studies? and just drawing loads of head structures to get more of a hang on it. with deep set eyes there can be this almost continuous ridge of the brow down the nose, which makes it easier to draw. like this

for me, doing that continuation from the brow ridge all the way down the nose (and also pushing out the far eyebrow ridge) makes it a lot easier to give the nose form, and to extend the expression. idk if itll work for others but worth trying?

ill be looking out for your comic, though. this looks good!

Thanks for the references! These will help. And my comic probably won't be out for years. I'm still starting out.
