I was so annoyed how my stories always ended around 75K, not hitting Tapas 80K, now I am at 86K with Werewolf, and I am worried it will go to 100K with edits somehow.

My ONC also blew past 40K, when I thought, 25K if I am lucky...

I really have a bad handle on length.

Gosh, what a crazy week so far. Work is busy, writing is busy...

On the upside, I now have a 500 word synopsis for the Lone Werewolf, and am making a steady progress in the revisions. Alas, to apply for the mentorship with it in May, I will have to take it down from Tapas. I am sad, but well, it finished posting, so it doesn't get much reads per day, so maybe it's not a big deal. Maybe it's the right strategy, get a feel for how the story is recieved while posting, then just keep the story on the Wattpad as the main site for all my stories.

I have to ask, what is the point of the mentorship program? I looked into it and it's just to have another author go chapter by chapter through your book to prep for the Watty's? Yes? (The Watty's themselves I don't understand either.) I've found other sites that will give you decent feedback in exchange for you reading other people's work.

Checking in: I hired a professional beta reader! My project was making my head spin, so I'm super excited to get their feedback. Literally counting the days to the deadline for that sweet, sweet concrit :sob::pray:

I'm also only two more subscribers away from that first milestone of 25. Yay! :sparkles:

OMG!

Hello everyone! It's been awhile!

I hope you're all doing well --it seems like you are!

I'm almost at 170k words. Honestly, stress from IRL kind of blocked me for over a month, but good things seem to be on their way, so hopefully I can keep churning out.

Was making revisions but stopped for a moment, because I realized what I actually wanted my style to be, and so now I have to go back and revise EVERYTHING. I'm excited though!

I also went into a hyperfocus one day and attempted to learn how to script, and I scripted the first episode of my book as if it were a show.

Anyway, nothing but love here and

SUPPORT GLITTER!

Scripting can be so much fun! Granted, my experience is only with theatrical productions and not comics, but it can be SO MUCH easier to do a story as a script than a full length story. I've been working on turning part 1 of my series into a script.

NICE!

I've done a comic and a film so far.

I have a plethora of resources if you need anything!

The sweet deal are the workshops. Basically you get 2 rounds of feedback on your 1st chapter (character voice), 500 words summary, Blurb and Logline/pitch. It's worth a LOT, particulary on the 500 words. In my experience, 500 words abslutely have to be read by someone else to help only get the main story and take out everything that only a writer can understand.

If you get a mentorship, you get a beta-read from a popular writer, so that's worth even more to me, because I struggle with writing books that appeal to others.

I've gotten down 2k words today of the project I'm writing for Camp Nano. Btw, the new Scrivener is pretty good (they finally released version 3 for windows)

Neato! I am always just using Google doc, but I know tons of people looove Scrivener!

I am still editing, but I had been poking into some experimental chapters, including the potential Tapas series. :star2:

Busy editing day! Went ahead and edited five chapters and started to write a new one. I've reached 1/3 the way done on my novel. The MC has offically just murdered her first person (of many), and it wasn't necessarily on purpose, but a strigoi gotta eat, y'know?

I finished the editing run! So... just going to take a bit of a break, and work offline, while posting the updates for Raised by the Mafia...

Kindda a bit sad about deleting Lone Werewolf from here, but eh, it's for the best.

I'm a bit anxious since I have to go on hiatus soon and I haven't since the start of my novel... Just received a big boost in subs too, so I'm scared it'll kill my momentum. Then again, it's really necessary both to build a new backlog, for my mental health and because I'm entering a really busy uni period.

Take care of you.

I took a small break and ended up just uploading "recaps" instead of new chapters. went over some important info, some characters, etc.
