I'd date Ellery Church, but only after the events of the story Sarota Springs, when he's in a better place emotionally and situationally.
He's considerate but not a push-over. He's very loyal and will do anything for the people he's most closely tied to. Church is a best-selling author and has more of a literary mind but appreciates all intelligence levels so long as one isn't ignorant by choice.
He appreciates the simpler things in life. His idea of a fun date would be to drive to an old abandoned farm at dusk, walk around it ruminating, and end the night laying in the back of his pick-up.
He does tend to bottle up emotions and not effectively communicate his frustrations with things at times, but I deal with that already in my real life husband.
Church also has a kick-ass neo-gothic aesthetic.
One major drawback for me: He's asexual for the most part and isn't actively interested in physical relations. I dunno if I could work with that in the long run.
