Thanks for starting this thread. It's so great to read everyone's world-building and how their 'worlds' work. Anyway here's a little bit about my worlds.
Forgotten:
The world is split into seven realms (kind of based of the Norse Mythology Nine Worlds). While the different realm inhabitants do intermingle with other realms, most keep to themselves, basically like different countries. In each realm, there are many kingdoms and 'countries'. The only way you can travel to another realm, is by going through a gate that's heavily guarded.
In the book, Cal travels with a Fae (her names Fer) through the seven realms. As they travel, they meet many different characters from different myths, stories and legends. And they also discover something about the realms...
Sorry can't say more because that'll spoil the story.
The Rising Darkness:
As for this book, it's basically a dystopian version of our world set thousands of years into the future. Runa (the MC) sometimes talks about the old world (before the Underworld started ruling) and talks about space exploration and people going to live in other parts of the universe.
There are of course some differences between our world and hers, mostly in terms of the system of power and naming of places. (Geography and history - a bit - are the only things really that are the same)
