Digital or old fashioned pen and ink for making comics?

I used to do ink and scanned drawings, but now I do almost everything digitally. It's not very often that I use my art pens anymore.

The benefit of digital over old-fashioned is that you can do so much more on a computer than you can with regular paper, and with today's changing technology, who knows what we'll be able to do someday.

But hey, whatever floats your boat man...

I do storyboarding and character mockups and designs traditionally but the final page is all digital. Plus, I don't like spending money on supplies.

We do all our comics Traditionally with either a brush with ink or brush pens, or Copic Multiliners (Copic Markers or watercolour if we need colours).
I can't bear sitting on a computer when I want to make the arts. UnU I get restless on a computer.
I love the textures and smells of inks and paper.

Actually, I'm drawing the characters and some props on layout paper with pencils and markers, then I do the rest, including the backgrounds, with Paint.NET.

I do everything digitally on the Surface Pro, but the hard part is trying to make it look like old fashioned pen and ink!

I do my sketches in pencil first (it's quicker for me, and I can take it anywhere) then I scan them in and "ink" them with Photoshop CS2 and my Wacom Intuos 4.

I use digital because I can't afford the art supplies I would need to create some of the effects I want in my comic Prinsessa. Even though it's way harder to get the line work clean using digital, it ends up being way easier to make and upload.

I typically use pen and ink for the line art, then scan it to Photoshop to drop in color. I like the line variety that a brush and ink provides. it's most apparent in the panel borders, because I use an inked brush without a ruler. My comic is called Shelby and the Blooms.

I use a combination of SAI and Photoshop. I've sometimes tried to modify ink and paper drawings, although it's really time consuming. I'd love to be able to do everything by hand though.

If I wanted to draw in a serious style I'd use pen and ink because so far no matter how I try my drawings are really loose when I draw on a tablet. Though I still like using the combination of both.

I use Pentle brush pens on my comic, inked on a 11"x17" cardstock. I even letter dialogues with a marker.

I do very little work on Photoshop other than cleaning (removing dusts and artifacts) and stuff.

I just started drawing my second comic Welcome to Calaveras in pen-and-ink and marker. I just like drawing with pen better than on the computer.
I still adjust colors in Photoshop before uploading, though.

I swap and change as and when. If a image is giving some hassle I try and pre-prep it with a pencil sketch or sometimes my pencil sketches are turning hideous so I digital sketch and ink.

Well I kinda suck at digital art so I make all my actual comic pages traditionally.... It's a pain but It's fun!

Digital for chapters' covers and first pages, traditional for 'actual' pages c: I already spend way too much time in front of computer, so inking pages traditionally is kinda relaxing c:

Always paper & pencil first. That has been my drawing breath since I was 4. However, my high school art program taught me well in the way of the photoshop/pen tablet. It's not too difficult to adjust, it simply takes practice.

Albeit my inking is not the best because my hand is not steady in any way, shape or form- still, it looks better inked by Manga Studio than scanned in. (Especially since my scanner is back at home in America -_-) One day, maybe I'll afford a Cintiq. Then my inking ability would be revolutionized... my current pen tablet is really buggy.

Also, because of my unsteady hand a.k.a. wobbly lines, my handwriting is poop too. So there's no way I'd post a comic with my own handwriting and consider it good enough. Aiyaaa....
