  1. Yes! Of course! Though sometimes I catch myself looking out for nice/bad aspects on that comic to learn/avoid.

  2. Mostly manga, but there are a few webtoons/webcomics we follow.

I read a ton of webcomics and not only from Tapas; they're what got me to draw my own and they continue to inspire me to keep creating (however Tap novels aren't my thing I'm afraid)

  1. Yup, totally! It's always fun to see what other creators do! Also I usually have more time for reading comics than drawing my own.

  2. Webcomics mainly, mangas and novels rather less. I read every day whenever I got time to procastinate.

I love reading other people's comics! I wish I could read more often but I'm limited with my busy work load. I read a few times a week mostly to see new pages on my favorite comics. Now and then when i can, I'll binge read something like if I can't sleep at night.

You can say I read more comics then creating my own. While I should create more comics for my own I just love reading others. I check up daily for new updates of comics that are on my favorite list but also check up new comics (that's aren't so famous). I skip the comics you need to pay to unlock because it's annoying no matter how good the story might be. I rather support the 'newbies'

As an author, I probably work a little (okay, quite a bit) less than the webcomic creators, but I do read other things quite often! I always try newer comics/novels, but I'm a huge fan of fantasy, sci-fi and comedy, as well as horror.

I started my comic this year and I can't claim to be "busting me butt" on it so yeah, I read a good amount of webcomics. The only issue is that the internet in my country is super slow and I have to wait until 1AM if I want to read a webcomic on Tapas or Webtoons.

Yup, I read XD
I might not read everything when the update comes out, but I'll eventually get to it when I get time

im a comic creator, but ive actually managed to read a lot more books lately than comics... my tapas notifications really build up. i used to read a load of print comics every week, too, but havent touched them in months... little scared to attempt catchup now. BUT ive read two discworld books in as many months (thats p slow yh but im crazy busy and havent been reading all year)

i check up on all my tapas comics randomly maybe once a week, and read a scene or two from my book (currently making money by terry pratchett) every night. normally id read a buncha print comics online over the week but right now... hehe... no

  1. Yes I read comics too, even though I'm a creator. When I'm at work, I read comics on my break periods. They aren't usually long enough to draw anything (and my tablet is at home), but plenty of time to catch up on my favorite webcomics.

  2. I read on Tapas and Line Webtoons mostly. Sometimes I go on tumblr or twitter to catch up. I mostly read fantasy romance webcomics, or action adventure comics. Sometimes educational comics.. its pretty mixed I guess.

Not as often as I'd like, but yes, I read webcomics and physical comics. :> I try to check in with the webcomics I follow once a week.
It's important as a creator to take time to read other people's comics; if you're constantly in your own bubble, you'll end up out-of-touch with what's going on in your own community.

When I'm not busy with everyday life, I tend to spend an hour or two reading web comics. It helps relax me,which is when I usually get a random burst of random creative inspiration.

  1. As a writer, I need to read when I'm not writing lol My goal is to improve my craft, so I'm always reading something. I'll read novels, articles online, or physical magazines. All reading is good reading since it helps me learn new writing styles. I always make sure to read my fellow writers stories.

  2. I read everyday, but I divide up what I read. For example, I always make time to support other writers on the websites I'm on. I actually write on three websites now, so my time is very divided. I have a blog with 1580 followers, a profile on Writing.com, and now I'm on Tapas. Throughout my week, I make time for each website while also writing my own stuff. Basically, I have no life >.> Or so it feels.

I probably fall into the later. Majority of the time I find myself consumed by work load to the point I barely have time to keep up to date with my reading list. (I haven't even finished that pokemon sun game omg hahaha) So yeah, I tend to binge read comic on my reading list more often than not.

I have around 70 comics on here and 20 or so on Feedly I read weekly.

Granted only 10 of them are very long (Take 5 - 15 minutes to read each), it still takes a good chunk of my day.

It does keep me motivated, however to keep writing and drawing.

I binge read when I'm nowhere near my laptop, but most of the time I'm either working or staying up late to work on my own comic.

Yes of course i read a lot of web-comics, though i am mostly interested in the fresh section, i tend to lose interest in overwhelmingly popular titles,
there are some great hidden artists that barley have 10-20 subs, and would love to see them grow!

  1. I take breaks to catch up on the comics on here and I also have a printed manga collection I like to binge on occasionally. (Generally when I'm sick) I have a friend who comes to visit once a year and then we binge watch anime.

  2. I'd say a few minutes to an hour of reading comics or horror stories before bed each night. I have had long dry spells in the past but then I read a strip in The Oatmeal where Matt talks about how creating is like breathing: you need to breathe out (create things and publish them) but at some point, you need to breathe in again (read and digest works by other people in order to enrich yourself and recharge). After that I determined to spend more time enjoying other people's work too!! I feel much more sane.

Here's the awesome thing he wrote by the way:
