Do I create a new series for my sequel comic?

I've asked this before, but now I am up to this point, I think I would like some fresh advice. So I just finished the first installment (after hundreds of episodes) in my webcomic series and I am abut to start the sequel. Now, do I create a new series, separate to the first one or just continue it on in the same series (and thus keeping subs, likes, views etc.)? In this sequel, all the characters follow on in the same world, the only difference is that there is a 20 year gap between the two stories.
I'd REALLY appreciate some advice here.

If the first one being read is integral to the sequel being understood then you should probably keep it under the same series, just make the time jump really clear to the readers. If you can read the sequel without the first, then separating them should be fine. If you feel they should be separate then make it super clear on the first page of the sequel that it's that, a sequel. Just having it in the description or the creator note thing might not be enough. Plus make sure to let readers know where the sequel is on the first.

It really depends on how you want them organised. Separating them might make them easier to manage, or keeping them together might do that. Good luck with your decision.

Personally I would start a new series, since it will make it easier for new readers to get into it. For example, you can watch Boruto the sequel to Naruto, without really watching all four thousand episodes of Naruto. Its a good opportunity to hit a new audience, as well as hopefully carrying over some of the old audience.

imo, yes. from a tactics standpoint, whenever you have the opportunity to start a new series, do it, because new series have far better chances getting up into trending and popular - especially if its a new series gaining subscribers rapidly from the previous series. the fresh start feels nice and clean, and is less intimidating to new readers.

also imo, its a good idea to make a sequel such that new readers can follow without reading the original. that doesnt mean making the original redundant, of course, but throwing in enough callbacks for the story to make sense, without quashing the curiosity to read the original. jkr was pretty good at this with harry potter.

I say start a new series, it's not the original and not part of the original story it's a squeal. Like now Baruto and Naruto are separate series despite being in the same world.
