I... see where he was coming from (I'm assuming you're talking about what's happened so far in the anime, since I haven't read the manga), but the attitude he had about leaving everyone other than Emma and Norman was.. well, I didn't like it, but I definitely didn't hate it bc again, it makes sense. I thought his feelings were justified enough though~

I didn't hate him as an anime-only watcher, and then I read the manga and I can't really hate him regardless.

By the end of the anime. Ray made sense as a character. He had secrets, and his personality and moral values came from holding onto dark knowledge for far too long.
