Do tapas rules not apply to the Mature section or am I misunderstanding the rules?

I looked through tapas's mature comic section/tab, and a lot of them had depictions of characters handling genitalia (screenshot examples below). A year or so ago I was flagged and messaged by staff for having a character touch another characters bits in a comics, I was told that even though I had the mature filter applied, I still needed to censor any genitals being touched by anyone including them self bc of tapas's rules. I"m not complaining about the rule, it's valid, but I am confused why several of the mature tab comics are breaking this rule, and would like to know if this touching rule is no longer in effect?

Is this level of maturity on tapas now allowed for all creators as long as we mark the page as mature? Have the rules changed or am i misunderstanding them?

The mature section and mature tagging are two different things, so I wouldn't be surprised if they have different sets of rules. I'm no staff though, so I can only offer guesses!

Oooooh @ratique ... I feel like these are things that just have gone under the radar. I mean, you can show sexual content so long as, as the rules say, were not made and aren't designed to entice the viewer to sexual gratification or some fancy legal wording.

Yeah, maybe they have different rules. But if so they should really put some kind of stronger warning when you click on that section since even the mature tag warns ppl/makes you confirm you want to see it first.

The "Mature" section is made specifically for NSFW works and is not currently open to all creators. It is completely separate from the "mature" tag on the regular section.

I'm no staff either, but it is correct that a "Mature Tag" is very different from a comic in the New Mature section.

These new mature comics are licensed by tapas and reviewed individually by them. They are also in a section that can't be viewed on apps and which you can only view when you confirm you are over 18 years old (if I remember correctly). It is a bit like the Mature tab functions as a separate site that works with it's own rules.

So to answer your question, no, you are still not allowed to show explicit sexual acts, genitalia or any other scenes that break Tapas' rules for content, as you are part of the main site.

Ah ok, it's weird that it looks like part of the same site but that makes sense with it not being on the app.

"It is a bit like" the tab is a different site, but it is certainly part of Tapas. I'm used this point to make the different set of rules easier to understand.
