Do you guys ever create a scene where you're like "holy cow that turned out so good"?

This isn't necessarily for promotion, but I will start it off by saying I have been in a small writer's block since I went on hiatus to build a buffer. Don't get me wrong, I have the ideas, but I have had such little time to write (as well as inspiration) that it's been a struggle.

However, I have created a chapter for way ahead when I have some random thoughts towards the novel that aren't ready for the next chapter. Well, I wrote one a while back ago, and then today, I wrote another one to get some creative stuff going. I was feeling inspired with this particular scene, and I thought, hey, this should be fun.

I should note that I absolutely adore werewolf transformations in comics and literature, so when I decided to make this particular character, not MC, a werewolf, I just knew I had to make a transformation scene. But, a struggle arose... I was writing in third person limited with the view point of the MC not the werewolf character so, I had to really do my best to showcase the werewolf's pain while keeping it in third person limited.

To say it was a challenge would be an understatement. However, I have my own little twist on werewolves and their transformations (I prefer the two legged ones), and I really really enjoyed writing it. Now, obviously, I need to edit it, but I am so happy with how it turned out. It's a bit gory, but I think I portrayed it well enough to the character's pain.

So, let me ask a question. Have you ever written or drawn a scene where you are so thrilled with it or have had just a blast creating it? Where it is one of those scenes where you would love to do it all over again because it was just that much fun?

Yes! I've written some scenes later on in my comic that gave me a lot of feels, and I'm just so excited to get to those parts with my actual drawing as well, but that's not going to happen for ages :'D I wouldn't want to write them all over again though, because I feel like I nailed it so hard on that particular attempt that the other attempt just wouldn't hit the same. That level of writing is NOT something I can reproduce at will XD

The entire Dodgeball Arc in my story lol. Quincy's reveal was just so, SO good. I should note I wrote the outline for that bit. My good friend KonaiDream wrote that episode since I was busy (although I did write some lines to keep things consistent).

It was so great for me since he's from another story and I managed to sneak him in here. It's like "Look at ma' bebe boy!".

I love drawing them and when you look at it, you thought I have fatigued my hand and at some point it did but it felt good once it is done.

Um yes?! Gah!!! So many times! There is this one scene I wrote ages ago that is just the biggest bomb in my novel and I could read it again and again, because I’m that proud. I feel hesitant to share details, because it’s actually from a werewolf-ish novel I’m writing, Nonconforming. If you like LGBTQ fantasy content, look no further!

On a side note, I write in first person, but I’ve also been working on a series of special episodes for Nonconforming that are all third person limited to explore the POV of some of my other characters and that has also been a blast!

Absolutely! There's a scene in "Red Shift" I'm insanely proud of because I feel that I captured the energy and emotions of a spacecraft crashing extremely well. The language and dialouge just came together exactly the way I wanted. 🛸

I have that when I solve problems in stories.
Some parts could be better, some don´t make sense yet and sound ridiculous
when I think about them. When I rewrite those scenes I often have "Yes! That´s it" moments.
Often under the shower. I also yell something like "Ja! Das is es" in german

Sometimes I write an especially dramatic or tragic plot point that makes me cackle diabolically because I know it's a huge emotional gut punch for readers and an amazing scene... or will be, once I get there. :')

Sadly my comic is a baby with only four episodes complete, so I don't expect to get to illustrate these impactful moments for a long time. I look forward to it though. I think I have some genuinely good stuff to come.

Mostly recently, I wrote a scene with some very clever dialogue built on subtle, double meanings. The scene will be emotional on the first read-through to begin with, but once the hidden context is revealed later, each line of the conversation takes on an entirely different, messed-up, and tragic alternate meaning. I can't wait to get to these story points. It's a big motivator for me, thinking of how satisfying it'll be to finally visualize these scenes and put them down on canvas.

For me I ended up working on my script everyday until completion! There were days where I was less inspired than others but since I didn't put too much pressure on myself and with a bit of editing I was able to make something I was super proud of.

Some scenes I didn't expect to be my favourites became my favourites somehow!

Usually it's taking what's in my head and translating it into words and images that are understandable to the audience. Some of my favourite scenes are ones I know have a good amount of build up and foreshadowing to have great pay off.

I can't go into detail because of spoilers but I feel some of the scenes have such interesting interactions between characters, drama and emotion that I can't help but love them.

I love those emotional gut punches, they make great stories, songs, poems, pictures.
The emotions can go into every direction and impactful artists know how to tickle those emotions.
You look at a picture and you see how that person suffers or they look straight into your soul or
they look with you with desire. The same with stories, you read something and you feel connected
because it is really intimate and you are like "yes, I know how that feels". The only way to get there
as a creative person is to be super honest, create something that really moves you not something
you think "people. will like", your partner or parents will approve and then you have to let it all out.
I think that´s the mindset emotional masterpieces have been created with, it´s not easy to do that

The swelling pride I get when something I envisioned in my head comes out as I thought it would is practically euphoria, bc the disconnect (even with outlines and notes) is often still there.

The latest time I can think about this happening was actually last night were I was working on the cityscape for the capital of Lufiriya and when I backed away from it I was like danngggg I did that

I do have from time to time finished writing something stood up and shouted "I'M A LIVING GOD".

I also do it when I nail a cooking recipe.

Still how 99% of the time I really think I'm not doing the best work, that 1% of times when I get to self-proclaim godhood manage to keep me going.

Feelsbadman ... If it were me, I'd just post it up somewhere anyway if I can't repurpose it; people probably won't understand it's true greatness due to lack of context, but at least then there's a chance it wouldn't go completely to waste :'D

I love when you write a scene and you are able to bring it around to an earlier point. Something you set up and now you have the pay-off. Those I think are the best scenes.

In, like, 5 more months I will upload the chapters that I are most proud (as for now), and when I drew them I was like -this is the best scene ever!!- I remember to have made 3 or 4 pages per day, when my usual flow is 2 pages. That emotioned was I when I made the escenes! To undermine myself, I re-watched to scene a couple of times, printed some pages, etc, to see if everything was nice, or I was fooling myself, and I must say that I still love those chapters. Hope the crowd scream like crazy when reading it, as I did drawing it =D

Last summer i was working on a dark fantasy novel. It's about a handful of warriors who are sent to a cursed mountain in order to uncover the beast that dwells there and kills anyone who dares to step a foot in its den. Anycows, there is a chapter where the party gets literally slain by some wild creatures and when i finished writing i was like "Woah! Fruck!" i got goosebumps everytime i was reading it. And yes, im not a person who gives credit to myself all the time but for that particular one im freaking proud!!
