Do you guys like super hero concept genre?

In making a superhero concept genre, what do you guys think is the best? make it into a manga style illustration or the typical comic illustration with realistic perspective?

Nope...at 22 hours long, it's a little much for YouTube. The other fan-edit I saw that I loved was the Winter Soldier clocking in at 4:15, because they added in a lot of footage from the last 7 episodes of the first season of Shield. Fury, Maria Hill, and Sitwell cross back and forth between the movie footage and the series footage, so it all feels like one big ass espionage movie, and really brings out the "3 Days of the Condor" feeling that the movie was going for anyway.

You'll want to look in some of the darker areas of the web for those two. But both of them enrich the stories.

I don't know if there is any "best" way to do it. Whether a certain style works for a story will depend a lot on the preferences of the reader. For myself the more serious and intense a stroryline becomes the less I can tolerate a more Manga style. The big googly eyes, high stylization of the figure and exaggerated expressions pull me out of a serious mode. For my story I want to put super powered characters in a more serious storyline and believable universe so I try and draw as realistically as possible to aid with the suspension of disbelief. There's still a definite kind of stylization in the art, but not so much that it starts being cartoony and hard to take seriously thematically--at least when I'm doing it right! I'm definitely in the minority though when it comes to having a hard time with manga style art in a serious story line. I think the vast majority of comics fans enjoy the style in any kind of story.

Personally, I love "superhero" comics. When I started reading comics as a kid is was all, Spider-man, Batman, Captain America, spandex-wearing, square-jawed, face-punching goodness for me. I loved it. Eventually my interests branched out to DC's Vertigo line, Sandman, and all that sort of goodness, but I was still reading traditional "superhero" stuff as well. In my twenties I foolishly moved away from comics for a bit, wrote a few novels and played around with more "adult" art forms. I was young. I thought I knew everything. And in my hilarious naiveté assumed that I had outgrown them.

Eventually I came back.

Good stories are good stories, and good art is good art. Itcan be found in all sorts of weird places, including spandex.

If you guys to rate it 1-10, how would rate a DC Marvel comic or a manga? what would you pick first?

I know that any comic cannot be rated because it has different style. But I want to know the majority of picks:)

I like the few stories that exist outside of the 'Big Two'(Marvel/DC), otherwise I can see why people don't gravitate to them. I'd personally like the genre more if new stories were created and allowed to get popular outside the net, rather than just remaking the same stories from 60+ years ago. Not saying they're not great, but, way past time to move on...

Hey everyone, glad to see there are some superhero fans here on Tapastic. J.Bone and Chris Stone do a strip called Secretman right here on this very site. I think it's pretty great and fun but as one of the creators I'm kind of biased. Hi everybody, I'm Chris, nice to meet you.

Superheroes are a cool genre. I've got some superhero concepts of my own I'd like to turn into comics one day.
I haven't read too many Superhero comics, since I'm more into reading manga. The movies and cartoons are what got me interested in the genre.

I think the difficulty of doing superheroes is that you have to bring something new to the table. Superheroes have been around for so long that you have to offer something that DC or Marvel haven't already done. Making a superhero story in a Manga style is one such thing.

Super Hero concepts (of the spandex/costumed kind) are rare in manga/anime but they're there. 8D Others have mentioned OnePunch-man and Tiger&Bunny. There's also Ratman (which is not as popular as the first two, btw OnePunch-man is awesome!). There are more which I haven't read/watched, like Zetman and My Hero Academia but I think they fall under the superhero genre.

I didn't read Marvel/DC comics when I was a kid, but what I've seen on tv (like the animated series and movies) intrigued me. But thanks to the many superhero movies that are popping up in cinemas since the early 2000s (my word, I feel old) now I'm more open to the genre than I was growing up.

Heheh, also... I saw the word Super Hero and I can't help but do a bit of self-promo XD;;;; My comic The Masked Henchman is set in a superhero setting but it's more slice-of-life than action and more in the views of a bystander than an actual hero. (It's also heavily influenced by OnePunch-man. XD;;;;;)

Short answer: NO.

Long answer. I don't really remember who said it (it may have been Will Eisner) but i think "Every superhero story has been told" there's a lot of interesting stuff in our world and stories to share/write, to be re-doing the same old superhero stuff since the 50's i think the only somehow original story from the last 20 years from that genre has been one punch man, and i really can't think of something else that has not been formulish (Superman, Batman, Spider-man remixes)

I like a good superhero story, myself! But I like them just as much when they're twisted into something a little newer! My comic on Tapastic (Halftone) is about a world that includes superheroes, but focuses more on the police who live in that world. Everyone's seen Superpants Vs. Professor Perilous or what have you, but not a lot of people have read comics like Gotham Central (one of my favourites) about the police who have to handle the D-listers, or stumble upon the A-listers at a bad time, or what have you.

I'd like to think there's still a lot that can be done with the superhero genre. It just has to break out of old molds, you know?
