Not yet, but as how my main character IS a demi-god- they are coming...

My comic is about the Greek Gods as people from the modern world who fell through a space-time hole to a parallel earth version of ancient Greece. So they were a pretty key component lol. The meat of my comic is about how power distorts your sense of self and your connection to other people, regardless of how well-intentioned you might be. It's also about pew pew shooty lightning bolt let's do some shennanigans, but that's a whole other kettle of fish.

Not really... There will be some very powerful characters, who will think that they're close to Gods in power, but actually they are just whimsically modified people/AI with megalomania.

The gods in my comic are refferred to as spirits, as in the embodiment of the thing they represent. It's actually a heavy plot point that some of them have their names and faces lost into obscurity.

My comic All Broken Gods obviously features discussion of them a lot of course. Essentially they're over glorified politicians whose only thing that differentiates them from mortals is their omnipotence and immortality.

Odansae in the comic acts as a bridge between us and them (as a god in training) and reveals how petty, backwards and elitist these creatures can be and how frustrating it is to deal with a bureaucracy of talking animals.

I haven't gone into too much detail yet. There are a bunch of immortal who dedicate their lives to being Guardians. If a Guardian is seen as purely good, they are called a Lord. If a Guardian is seen as purely bad, they are called a Demon. The Guardian of all Guardians is called Mother, who is worshipped by some of the magical people. There is the question of who created Mother but I am not going to go that deep in this series.

However humans and some magical people ignore the whole concept of Mother and just practice their own religions.

Since my comic is literally titled "Queen of Gods" - yes, there definitely are gods and they're very important for the story and for the people.

They even influence the way people talk. "By the gods..." is an often used exclamation and curses often involve their gods also ;D

Unfortunately I can't really say much more about them, since that would involve huge spoilers. But I always love gods in fantasy stories, I feel like they make things fun - having this all powerful being somewhere in the background, pulling strings... So many cool things they can add to the world.

Well yes and no. In Blade Quest the story takes place in a world where the gods are dead and the people are still dealing with the aftermath of it all even centuries later.

Deities are practically the main characters of my comic, hence the title.

Although, they're not based on any mythology. Any mortals that evolved in the universe can't comprehend their existence so they're not worshiped outside of heaven.

Love Me, Deity is still early in it's plot so there's a lot more to learn about them in the future.

Though their influence on the story is more 'characters that happen to be gods' rather than creationism they made the world this way backstory.

Yep, I did. I took inspiration of one of our local mythos (about a woman that transports souls to the underworld using a golden boat) and used that as an excuse to explain how my reapers go around because one of my friends told me that having them teleport all around was pretty stupid and lazy.

The gods (or god like beings) are as follows

The main pantheon:
World, Life, Thought and Time.

and we got the god like beings aka:
The primordials also called chaos.

in short, each of the gods (outside of time) sacrificed something to shape the world in one way or another, creating the concepts at which they are named after, the primordials then come in and give the ancestors direct access to the tools of creation, creating what is in essence, magic.

important to the story? they are, just aren't active forces in the story, but their presence still is apart of the world, since it directly ties to magic.

as for the primordial themselves, the protag has 1 primordial that acts as their patron :U
they act as both an explanation on why the protag is different from other people, but the primordial itself is still restrained by the magic of the gods, lacking its full capabilities of completely destroying reality, it teaches the protagonist magic.

otherwise, I personally am not interested in god focused stories, or god-sonas.
the gods in my world are important, but only as backdrops and sometimes even plot devices, they aren't characters but rather raw forces, hence why I call them "gods"

the closest thing I have to gods as characters, exerting their will onto the world is that one primordial, but "Cutter" is an amalgamation created from Sally's thoughts so it can communicate with her, otherwise it's an entirely alien entity :U

I made the gods as an explanation on why the world and magic works the way they do, they are more like laws than things to be worshipped or are active forces shaping the world (but they are factually real).

an example would be the primordial kin being related to the first people to receive magic, the kin themselves in the same way as the primordials, can give others magic (or it can be forced out of them), but only when they feel sorrow, fear and any kind of negative emotion.
they aren't gods themselves but are historically tied to the primordials, and that aspect of them along with their importance to the non kin mages acts as one of the central pieces in the story.

So bASICALLY, I have gods, but I don't wanna add them because.
and also they are more like natural forces than actual characters, if that makes sense, the most characterableish one would be probably the primordials.

Oh, I don't want to give away spoilers, but yes, there will be deities in my story. I've dropped some foreshadowing, but they haven't actually appeared in the story yet. I mean, I've drafted stuff with them, but it's not typed yet.
