Do you hide when you don't update?

I've only got 34 subs, I'm not sure they'd even notice if I missed a week.

This reminds me of when I took a vacation earlier this year. I make it a point to announce stuff like that on all sites where I upload and mention the specific date when I'll be back and the next chapter will go up. Funnily enough, on a site where I had like one, maybe two people regularly commenting on my chapters, I suddenly got more comments when I was on vacation. There even was one (normally rather silent) reader asking when I'd come back and saying how they weren't alright with me just vanishing
So moral of the story: Regardless of how few people care about our stuff normally, they might just suddenly start to care if we don't keep up with our usual update routine

.......... hmm, no I don't think I would if I reached that point.
...... I guess..... it would be easy to say, "just don't worry about it" in regards to whether or not people get mad when you don't update, but obviously you are worrying about it and that's okay.
Just try to be honest about it. You kind of want the loyal subscribers anyway and those are the ones that will stick with you regardless of the occasional drop-off.

No, I usually do give updates on my wall saying that a page is gonna be delayed or something like that. The only time I did disappear was for about a month or two long break to grieve my dog passing away.

Nope, but it's very rude not to tell your readers that you're going on a hiatus to play catch up.
Don't worry, they got lives to fulfill.

I'm months behind, but I do keep my readers informed. Been having to fight arm pains and take breaks longer than I've wanted to...my day job bought another company, so a lot of the "transitional" stuff has coming through me, which means longer hrs and not enough time to work on the webcomic.

if i dont think ill be able to meet an update or do the full 2 pages ill post a notice so people dont message about it. I kind of do it a lot after joining an oct but i prefer being upfront.

Back at the old ver of my comic, true, i felt like i was on the run haha especially when i knew i had readers that followed me on ig where im most active, i would stop posting cuz i felt like my readers would raise an eyebrow at me.

But now, not anymore. I mean i’m not even an official creator, i dont have deadlines and most certainly i dont get paid. If my readers are really loyal they’ll have to be patient and just wait

oops... I do that. I have a comic that I just have trouble working on currently, so that is going really slowly.

I keep it easy on myself. i post twice a month so any-other day is a bonus really. so yea, they all need to stay on their own lane. I appreciate my readers but i cant sign up for something i cant handle.

I post every 2 weeks from the begining. About like 5 months in I was lets say... 7 hours late to update because i had plans that day and couldnt finish the last couple panels the night before, making it update at 1 am of the next day. The whole day when i was out I got a stress headache.

Now i got use to it and rather than saying I post every other wednesday, I ist it as every 2 weeks so i can post it aday or two later without freaking myself out.

Also i keep bonus art on standby so if I am late, I throw in art at the ed of the chapter so i dont feel bad

Yeah, I always feel a little awkward when I remember that I haven't posted any new comics in literally over a year. Like I'm still a comic artist, I swear...
