Hello!

I am in need of some good aroace representation but cant find it anywhere.
If someone knows any comic/novel with an aroace main character, I'd love to know!

I'm honestly thinking on writing a comic like this myself and then finding an artist

That’s my cue!

I like to say my comic, Heroes of Thantopolis124, has the most aro/ace characters of any webcomic, but I could be wrong. Anyways, I’ve been working on it for nearly 6 years so there’s lots to read! It’s a fantasy action-adventure story about a young boy and a mischievous queen that he serves as he fights to rid the City of the Dead from three enemies to the throne. I hope you’ll give it a chance!

Might be a weird example, but off the top of my head, there's Cirque Royale. One of the chapters even deals with one of the characters discovering he's aroace

Wandering and Under Satyr's Orders are the ones I can think of right now. Wandering will definitely be closer, though.

Technically, I have an aroace character in my comic, but the lead characters are cishet, so that's probably not what you're looking for

What's an "aroace"? I know "ace" is often used as short for "asexual", and I think the MC of my comic would fit that description, since he's basically married to his job.
Two problem though - the topic did not came up in the story so far, likely newer will, and second - the MC isn't a human.

Aroace stands for aromantic asexual. Which means a person who experiences neither sexual or romantic attraction.
Do you think the topic will be brought to your story? If do, I'd love to read it! (Because at the moment I'm really looking for some canon representation  )

Highly unlikely. Additionally, I'm afraid of writing any kind of romance out of fear of making it look silly, cringy, unnatural, or all at once, since I do not understand that part of human interaction and all my knowledge of it is second-hand. So as far as the plot and relationships are concerned - all my characters are asexual and aromantic.

wow, awesome! as an aroace person myself (still recovering from suffering from allo people on valentines) i’m gonna keep an eye on this thread :’)) i made my own one for ace characters like a year back but everyone who commented either didnt say it in canon, or was a robot/creature, stuff like that ya know?

anyway my comic’s MC is aroace, (comic’s called Heckin Dead on webtoons) it’s gonna be revealed by name in the next page! that said it’s just a silly 4koma and aside from some “allo people are awful” jokes (sue me) i can’t really give him an aroace arc.
no joke if you want some good rep (he’s not aro which is a SIN but, good ace rep..) todd from bojack horseman? best ace character in any piece of media i’ve seen to date. fantastic writing all around, i can talk about his ace arc for ages hah

As an aroace myself, all of my characters default as aroace and then I change it. Currently, in my webcomic19 there's one main character who's aroace but since my story doesn't focus on romance (it's fantasy, mystery) I don't think the topic won't come up, I'll try to mention it passingly but it won't be a focus.

I think so, yes
Alethia, a sci fi story about a robot dissecting the problems in the places she visits

My character smokey falls into that spectrum. I designed them to be a bit coy but hot tempered and aggressive cause as an asexual myself i'm tired of asexual characters being pathetic wet blankets lol

There was a brief window that Jughead of the Archie Comics met your criteria.

Then Riverdale happened.

Not exclusively comics but this database35 might be super helpful! It compiles every example of an ace-aro character in books!

Semi-related but there will be an ace-aro character in my own comic but...we won’t get to them for a while :sob: (so check this list instead lmao)
