i mixed phantogram - fall in love, cnc - valves, and got a short horror novel

no, lol, more like carbon vs a shiny metal or sth, picking arrangements from the periodic table

mental health (depression and anxiety,) romance, slice of life, drama, family dynamics, self-esteem etc.

Most quality novels have multiple themes, or they have one but really dive deep into them. Short stories don't usually have the space to dive deep into more than one but still have multiple there.

I try to make my stories about multiple things. There's the main plot about resistance and revolt, war, human reaction to desperation, extreme capitalism, ecological crisis... And then there's the subplot about learning to trust, finding your identity, found families, growing after living through abuse, sectarianism, the nature of love...

Lollll what does the mean??? I’ve been so confused by all your posts, I’m sorry but none of them make sense :sob::sob::sob: I feel bad but truly I don’t follow anything.

I swear, this "person" comes across like a bot speaking in Ai generated gibberish

From what I've read of theirs, they're from a very sheltered possibly religious/conspiratorial background judging by some of the jargon that is from Qanon and fundamentalist christian/christianity-based cult spaces, in any case not somewhere that has helped them learn critical thinking/analytical skills. They also don't seem to have read/watched a wide range of stories.

Also slightly worried about someone with this little barometer of how people act, react and feel about stuff writing cnc, which unless cnc also means something else, is short for "consentual non-consent" in fiction, also called "r*peplay" and can and often does become just sexual assault if written clumsily.

For those reasons, concepts that seem basic to us are groundbreaking to them, plus they don't have the tools to analyse these thoughts on their own yet and that makes a lot of their questions seem absurd. I'm hoping getting answers on the forums and seeing that a lot of stuff they say is either very basic storycrafting most people understand implicitly or completely out of pocket conspiracy theories will help them recentrer themselves.

Oh god I didn’t know that’s what cnc meant I thought it was a song because phantogtam is a music artist :skull: I don’t really know what’s happening here honestly I’m mainly just weirded that I couldn’t figure out what the conversation meant, so thank for for some clarification.

I had actually thought it sounded fun at first I thought they meant what two songs influenced a story or something and I had never thought of that as a means for writing prompt. I mean it sound sort of like a fun idea, especially because we tend to make our own meanings from songs. But it seems maybe that wasn’t where this thread is so I’m kinda still like huh??

All in all I think I’m going to hop off this particular topic :v:️
