Do you prefer fiction or Non-fiction?

I far prefer nonfiction. Though not for any smug reasons. People would probably argue that nonfiction doesn’t add anything new to the table and just serves to explain harsh truths. So it’s just a personal preference.

Part of the reason for my preference is that I love history, particularly the history of the 19th and 20th centuries. And I’ve become a bit obsessed about the state of humanity as the decades pass and where the world should be headed, because history has a lot of valuable lessons to teach. I like to use my fictional universe of stories as settings that take place in the real world as it helps me to relate to my characters. Understanding history as its both told and parts that people would never even think to explore help develop a deeper appreciation of class, economy, religion, politics, science, philosophy what have you.

Fiction Because if you have fictional events you can so much play vividly with your fantasy and you don't need to be bond to reality so I guess I'd roll with that option

Fiction. I'm TRYING to get into non-fiction atm though (forcing is the better word actually lol), but my logic is that if I wanna read something realistic, it'd have be a history book. It's like... why would I be reading "What-If" stories that take place in the real world when I could be reading real life stories instead? I also like to see the author flex their creativity muscles a little more. What can they offer that you can't find in the real world.

I enjoy fiction more, reality is often disap-- boring! and full of filler.

I do like nonfiction tho, sometimes reality is stranger than fiction, and there's a lot of cool stuff in real life that could easily become a movie, like the weird OVNI cases that happened in my country a few decades ago (saw by a lot of people in the same cities, and even the military)

I find fiction more suiting sometimes to get away from the world, but nonfictions really gives me insight on how I think, and even write.

Now that I think about it, I think most of the stuff I actually end up*reading/watching* these days is nonfiction As in, random articles and (video) essays on the internet XD

I mean overall, my fiction to nonfiction content consumption ratio is a bit more even but that's because games are overrepresented on the 'fiction' side ... idk if I'd play more nonfiction games if more of them existed though

Totally depends on the media.

For tv, I prefer nonfiction because I'm a sucker for documentaries.

For literature and comics, I prefer fiction.
