Do you read descriptions?

You already actually read the chapter, so do you bother with the description of what you just read?

It may not just be that--what the chapter was about, it can be anything.. But still: do you read those too?

Personally I did the most when I read a manga, as it was often on a page before the chapter started. As for books; I mostly did if it contained information that was skimmed over in the actual chapter (for realism purposes I guess? There was no reason for the characters to stop and overexplain a normal thing in their world sometimes)

My own descriptions can be straightforward, oblique, or include hopefully humorous interpretations and comments, or questions for the readers to answer if they feel like it.

I always do. Sometimes the best humour is in the description/artist comments

I always read the description before starting a seriesOh you meant the author's notes Admittedly I don't most of the time, especially for comics with short (e.g. one page) updates

I think the summaries are quite important lol it's true that some artists do dodge the summary and others are on the very end of the spectrum writing there little details or just side-notes which might be kinda important to the overall chapter. Sooo yes.

I feel like the description being at the very bottom is problematic; if you've already read the whole episode, what more is there? The description is always an afterthought, even when the person making the content (whether it be a novel, comic, video, whatever) may want the audience to take note of it while or even before they're consuming the content.

I try to remember to read the description for most things, but on Tapas it should be more easily accessed on the side, instead of the whole work's profile (on desktop at least). I mean, you're reading it after all, you already know what you've clicked on. And if not, then you should be checking out the project's main page to be figuring it out. If you're in the episode, the episode's description should be what appears there instead.

Like authors notes? Sometimes. Depends if I like the creator other times no.

It's more of an author's note than a description (hence I was confused by this thread's title initially since I associate descriptions with things you read before the thing it's describing, as you said XD)

It's at the bottom because it's for the author to comment on the chapter/link stuff relevant to the chapter that could be spoilery/incomprehensible for someone who hasn't read the chapter
