Hi, everybody!

I've been saving to buy a smartphone, but my pen tablet got broken. Should I buy a new tablet or a phone could be good enough for drawing comics? Any kind of phone would work if a buy a stylus pen? Which model do you recommend?

Please excuse me for my bad english. I wish you a wonderful new year. Thank you for your atention!

Yours,
Eicue

I do.
I use Galaxy Note 8.0 with Medibang Paint. And i could say that it really depends on your technique. I was familiar with SAI and moving to android to do my works doesn't give much trouble. (Check my dA if you're curious of what i managed to do with my android smiley l-thief.deviantart.com)
But personally, i think if you want to do big files and lots of detailing with loads of layer, i suggest to stick with graphic tablet on PC.
But if mobility is top priority for you, i think iPad air combined with apple pencil is great. For app, i'd recommend Medibang paint, it has what most paint tool these days have, even template for making comics, too.

Well im using my Iphone. It can be hard sometimes since it has small screen than tablets and using my finger for draw is hell.
If you can draw anywhere, you can buy a phone. Its useful and you can take it with you anywhere. But you can't use pen i guess, even if you use it's not sensitive for draw.So buying a tablet is much good,(has a more big screen and can use pen).

I've been using a Surface Pro for my comic drawing. I can't imagine drawing comics on a phone.

Me too! Do you draw on the screen or use a tablet with it? lol

As for the cell phone thing this is something that really intrigues me because I'm all about mobility (Who doesn't wanna draw wherever they go!). I've seen a few artist doing it... but never figure out what kind of phone they have lol

As for the main question, I'd say it depends on what you are doing... If you are use to using a tablet it might be a good idea to buy one as a back up because the cell phone thing might not work for you. You might get the phone and realize about half way through that maybe it doesn't do all the tricks you want it to. But that's just my thoughts

I have the first version of the surface pro. I bought it from a good online friend who was also using it for art. I draw on the screen. I was unsure if I would like doing that but I found my line art is a bit better on screen then using a tablet. I want to save up and get one of the newer surface pros. I've hit the limit a few times on this thing. But I love working this way and it was all I could afford at the time.

I am interested on how people draw with phones.

Your drawings are amazing, I can see that the Galaxy Note really works well. Thank you.

I used a tablet PC to draw, and it was wonderful, but it will be very expensive to have it fixed, so I'm trying to find cheap alternatives. Thank you!

Seems to be quite old thread but I am looking for someone who draws webcomics on smartphone.
The last chapter of my serie GLOOMY PRIEST40 is drawn mostly on galaxy note.
The screen is pretty small comparing to tablets but the biggest advantage is you can draw on the go:)
