Do you use Chibis/SD characters in you comic?

Very very sparingly. I think in the 70 page run of TreasureHUNT!!, these 3 panels were the only ones that featured any... and even so they're a strange even further simplified style

I've seen this strategy used in other comics, where chibi/simplified characters are used for the use of a diagram/explanation, so I decided to try it too

So far I've only used a simplified version of my characters for when they're in the background or in flashbacks.

I don't use them, mostly because I'm not skilled enough to draw them properly and I have a tendency to draw heads too big anyway But I do enjoy seeing them in comics, just not in excess.

I like using chibis either for comedic effect, as a type of shortcut, or both!

Now I like these, because the style isn't like typical anime chibis - you've totally made them your own.

I sometimes add a couple of chibi panels at the end of certain episodes to make things a bit more lighthearted and fun!

I have a "chibi" style for when there's something going on in the characters heads - like here in the example when he's imagining something, and sometimes when characers are recalling something (not if it's like, a plot important flachback though. That deserves the normal art stye xD).

I like chibis but I rarely use them. I may use them for a comedy effect and most of all becasue they are simpler to draw.

Sometimes I'll simplify characters to make an expression more cartoony, but I also don't think it's exactly chibi? It's not done with the intention of being cute at least lol

I guess it counts as SD then, as I'm assuming their faces don't usually look like that - so it still counts.

Okay so I'm not big on using chibis to suddenly flip a switch on the emotional scene (especially if the character designs themselves are more realistic... something that's already heavily stylized makes it less jarring of a transition), but there's this... FACE that bloody slays me every time. You know it, you've seen it, it's this one:

So of course I had to do my own rendition of it.

My style is pretty much chibi anyways, so it's not a long leap to go to something more deformed. But this face. THIS FACE. I swear I've drawn it for every character I have haha.
