Do you work alone on your webcomic?

I work alone as well as many others. I've had my fair share of commissioned stories where I was the artist and someone else was writing. It was fun, but I kinda had enough of following small revisions and changes. Also, this story is so personal I cannot give it to anyone else

I work alone. Originally, it didn't start that way. I was the one who pitched the idea and the person who helped me actually wrote chapters. I'm not a person who hates working with others but I have had people pitch ideas and wanted me to write and draw it. ;^; Though, having someone to discuss/draw/write comics with would be nice.

Yeah, I also work alone. Been running my comic weekly since March 1st 2014, and I kinda think working alone has been the key to remaining consistent with work and uploads.. The more people, the more chance someone might let you down, and to me I can't bare that thought lol.
It's interesting to read here of so many others working on their own too. Many of whom I know an loves.

I would work alone because I have issues and I can't handle not having full creative control. Having a co-writer would help since writing isn't my strongest department but I'd be too picky and selfish. Just being fully honest.

I work 100% alone. I used to have a group I'd at least share the pages with beforehand back when I'd just post pages on my personal website, but I'm not part of that group anymore, so no one even sees the pages until they're public now. An editor would be nice, but I'm pretty content keeping everything else my own. If I ever make enough money from my day job I might hire someone to edit, but who knows.

I do love doing collaborations, though. It'd just have to be a pretty short comic for me to be able to do it and to deliver to the end.

Ahaha I do all the drawing/writing/research myself! I wouldn't mind collaborating in the future, especially collaborating with a writer, but for now i'd really rather work on the projects that I'm personally invested in. I do have a couple of people who I discuss plot/writing/characterization stuff with just to see what works out or not. It really helps just to have people you can trust with your spoilers!

I'm solo. Do all the chores myself in order to get my book done.

I really wouldn't have it any other way, but I'd be lying if I said it doesn't get a bit lonely sometimes.

Yup, I do everything by myself from script to pages. I do ask for help from time to time from a friend of mine for lettering and how she feels about some characters but that's about it.

Hello! First post! Anyway. I had letterers/colorists/writers on some of the published stuff I did -- it was nice, but I realize I'm at my happiest when I'm doing everything. A lot of what I like about comics is pacing, and that's hard to control unless you're doing every job. I like having full control to screw up or succeed on my own merits.

Yep, one woman show here, although my lovely husband does do the pencils on occasion, which is a huge help!
Inks and pencils are the hardest step for me...the rest isn't too bad. Writing is the fastest!
I like working alone, tbh. I've worked in professional teams and even with some of the best, most talented people, I've felt some level of frustration at the end product not being how I would like it to be in some way. I guess I'm bad at compromising on the personal vision side haha >.< So I went full control freak on RetroBlade XD

I work alone, but I acknowledge the need for a copy editor and colorist. I think everyone who works alone needs at least a copy editor.

I was working with someone on another comic project to draw for them, but people are unreliable when it comes to these things, and if they fail to deliver on their end you're stuck with a bunch of unused stuff that you can't do much with since it was created for that thing.

I scripted out the major plot points and then try and craft each page towards those points so as to carry the story along in a darkly humorous and exciting manner.

I've got around 35 pages up but they're all black and white right now, so I plan on coloring them and re-submitting them, because frankly I think a majority of comic fans expect color now.

I also work alone on my series! To be honest, I had forgotten that teams of people work on comics / GNs! Just so used to being in communities like tapastic where most people tend to be a one-person show. Although, I have been commissioned to work only on the art of a short GN story, and it feels a lot different! Mostly a feeling of worried dread that despite constant notes and updates that I won't actually be doing what they wanted! XD

For both the projects I'm working on, I write, illustrate and finalize everything myself, but I have it proof read by my girlfriend :U For the most part, it's just me and it's very tiring and time consuming, especially when your tablet breaks ^^"

Researching professional comics online, at a certain point (which I am considering on doing soon), it is a good idea to hire an inker, a color blocker and a proof reader in order to aid with the production as well as to speed up the process
