Has anyone that is a writer and has no drawing skills actually tried to do some sketching no matter how low quality it was? Just for the sake of "feeling" the story visuals?

I draft my character designs pretty often, even for my novels, so I can get a visual feel for what they look like. Originally it was awful, but I've gotten better lol
