Hello, another just-writer checking in
I'm in talks with a couple of artists to turn one of my books into a comic, which I'm super excited about, but it's been a very slow process so far. I'm certainly no artist, however!

I'm hoping to find some readers here on Tapas, but it does seem to be very comic centered. Then again, the novel feature on here is still fairly new.

Hey there!

I'm trying Tapas hoping to get readers, too, but so far I haven't had much luck, but yeah, their novel feature is still new.

That's so neat turning your story into a comic. What's your story about?

The elevator pitch is that it's about a girl who goes on a summer cruise, and ends up finding out she's a witch. But there's a vampire on board feeding from the other passengers, so she and the other paranormal beings she meets have to fight/stop him!

Here's a link1 if you're at all interested. What's yours about?

I wish i could draw too but somehow my attention leans more on reading and writing than actually learning how to draw. so I'm working on writing more :3

It's great to see a writer thread here for ONCE. Everything is comic related so I can't find anyone to relate too.

My name's sho nice to meet you!

I'm currently working on a book about a girl who gets transported to another world and she possesses a cool purple mist power.

Right? Love all the comic things around here, very helpful to those who want to get to know the comic creating process, start their own, or get some help, but there needs to be a little more love for the writers, savvy? I've a couple of writer topics that I started myself—well, three now including the newest one.

Also, your idea sounds pretty cool. If you ever post it on Tapas, would love to take a look.

Thanks for responding to me! I'm new to Tapas, so it's nice to see other writers here. Your story sounds interesting

I'll definitely go check them out?

I wish tho that Tapas would make seperate sections for writing and comics

Just wondering. Is anyone here aiming to write a book for premium?

Tapas does have the novel section which is just for stories, but I feel the "popular/premium" stories overshadow the rest of us.

I used to write on Wattpad, and I heard Tapas was inviting just "popular" Wattpad writers to join the site. I heard about Tapas from that, but I didn't decide to join until I found a comic on here I really liked. If it wasn't for the comic, I probably wouldn't be on this site. I didn't like the way Wattpad was ran, and Tapas appears to be run the same way. But, we'll see what happens.

I used to write for wattpad too! But I decided I liked this platform better lol. It's more personal, and the books here are better quality than wattpad because it's not overrun by kids.

Yeah, premium stories are definitely more emphasized on the site. But technically anyone can become a premium story if you but the work into it. I emailed one of the workers and they said that if you have an almost complete or complete story, you can sent it to them, and if their editing team likes it, they will accept it as premium. I believe its a really good way for indie writers to shine

Plus, I looked into some premium novels, and the writing levels can range from beginner to professional writing. So if you have a good plot and most of your story done, I believe that any of us can do it

That's so true about Wattpad. I do find the quality of stories better on here, but I feel as the site grows, that quality will go down.

I'm truly happy my Wattpad days are over =)

I prefer tapas more than wattpad. maybe coz of the stigma in my country that if you write in wattpad, it's demeaning of a writer (some writers kinda gave that site a bad image due to poor writing skills).

I'm happy to have a thread about writing too. Though my stories are leaning more on the LGBT (lesbian) side of the spectrum.

There are Novel premium like Abyss Surrounds Us (i have a copy of it. nice read!) and there are also Staff Picks. I'm happy that one of my stories got into the staff picks too.

I'm writing two stories at the moment and hoping to write more after it if anyone want to check it out.

DRAFT features the daily lives of an Artist and a Writer who live together in an apartment. With their clashing personalities, weird things and hilarity are bound to happen.

From Paris, With Love

Elise Zaragoza is not your typical college girl who listens to gossips and cares about her instructors or professors. She would attend her classes, wait for it to end, and proceed to the next class until her day ends. That is until she meets the new instructor at her webpage design class. A Frenchwoman named Claire Le Creuset.

Her boring college life is soon filled with too much blushing, running away, and lots of confusing encounters with her French instructor.

That's interesting about the stigma in your country about Wattpad. If you don't mind me asking, where are you from?

Ah, I just asked a question about Premium today since most of the Premium stories here seem to be Wattpad stories.

That's neat about your work. Right now, I'm doing a rewrite for a high fantasy story I'm working on. Rewriting can be draining, but I really want to make my story better =)

Philippines. new writers thought that using emojis/emoticons as a form of writing an expression is acceptable due to a local publisher published a book with that kind of writing style. Add up how they use shortened words in writing than complete words.

Mostly am transferring my work in wattpad to tapas for better viewing. tips are a plus but i like how it's not too toxic really compared to wattpad.

I've heard a lot about the Philippines and Wattpad. I was told Wattpad books are really popular there, but the writers aren't respected.

As for a toxic environment, yes, Wattpad was very toxic. I've never seen so much backstabbing, popularity climbing, and bullying on one website. I hope Tapas will be better, but so far I'm not too impressed. The same Wattpad popular writers are the ones that keep being asked to be Premium here. I wonder if Tapas asks their own community members to be Premium for their stories. It seems they just go to other sites and take writers from there.

Yeah I agree with that not being respected. then again. there are issues with some writers too such as the backstabbing etc...

Hopefully Tapas would consider their own premium and not because of wattpad reasoning.
