And if so are there any particularly good templates or plug ins for webcomic pages?

I do: https://infectedbloodcomics.com/ It's a business account (costs me $$$ per year, but it's got plenty of good features and no HTML tweaking).

I use Panel, which is the only theme for comics.

Yep, I do too. Also a paid account. Basically paid account let you have a little bit more control of the site and let you set your own domain name.

I use Comic Press/Comic Easel. There are a few good options though. I heard Inkblot is also good.

I remember in the beginning setting up my site being extremely frustrating and difficult because I had to figure code for certain custom things I wanted or setting that were hidden under several menus. Best of luck to your site!

Thanks Both!! Yes it is a little frustrating at times, a bit of trial and error.

Is there some kind of plug in / add on that allows you to insert a forum easily? I'm useless at websites so it would have to be idiot proof haha

Oh my, hm, I haven't tackled insert my own forum onto my site. The most I have is a contact me page. And it's easy enough to find a plug in for something like that if you go to PlugIns on your wordpress dashboard and search contact me.

Jetpack is an amazing plugin! It has a lot of useful stuff going on with it, definitely recommend checking it out.

I'm about to embark on this perilous quest myself of building a website. I keep pausing coz I dont want to make a try at and have a Bruce Banner meltdown doing it. I havent chosen Word Press yet- I'm still trying to get past the cringing part that all the templates look like they're made for selling homemade soaps & spa treatments. I've been looking at other stuff like Grawlix, and trying to figure out what is my best course of action

Creepcomic.com is also on Wordpress - Comicpress! I also use wordpress for my portfolio site.

We learned to set up basic sites in school, but it was still a lot of trial and error to get the sites looking the way I wanted them to. I feel like it was worth it because I love having a site that doesn't look super cookie cutter, but it took a lot of time.

I've seen a lot of webcomics that use Disqus for comments, such as Snarlbear, Rutabaga, and Boozle. I've thought about trying it out myself on my website (although I don't use wordpress, just HTML code), but I haven't looked into it too much yet. It looks like it might be a good way to add a comment section to your comic site (is that what you meant by forum?). I majored in Computer Science and Engineering so if you had any HTML or coding questions I might be able to answer them!
