War is ugly, War is hell, war has changed.
Sometimes a war can cause the events that transpire the events of your story. Is that where your story begins? Does it take place before or after the war? What transpire to lead to this war? What caused the aftermath of the war? Was it for the better or worse? If you were to include a war that happens in your storyline, what would lead into it? How would your characters end it? I kinda do but it's not stated outright. It's like a passive aggressive mostly one-sided war? It's mostly caused by ignorance about the other party, and fear that they will lead the autocracy to its demise. War crops up in quite a few of my stories but with different forms.

In Shackles, it's based on historical wars in China. Since the main character is the Empress Dowager, the story focuses on her campaign to end the war.

My other novel, Dark Bytes, is a collection of short stories. In some of them,the war is against zombies which was a result of humans trying to develop a miracle cure.

My comic opens during the final battle of a fifteen year long war, waged by a warlord in order to unite the disparate city-states of the region all under her rule. The story going forward takes place in the aftermath of that, with a lot of people still dealing with the damage caused by such a long conflict. The new ruler is quite a tyrant and there's also the strong probability that she'll end up going to war with the neighboring region next, so war is definitely a concern that's often on the characters' minds.

Since you guys are sharing about your stories about how war is affected in them i will share mine as well.

In my story of The Dark Children of The Night, it takes place two decades after the end of a 500 year civil war. A war that is still felt across the demon realm and story and characters are dealing with the aftermath as they would stop anyone who would continue the bloodshed or try to start another war as the causalities was already high in the trillions. But how these mercenaries stop themselves from steering up trouble, they've only known war. And they refuse to accept that it ended. They believed that it only got "delayed".

War in my world is more a necessity. Mioverold is cursed with immortality, but can't sustain it. The implication here is that if people don't die, can the world actually keep pace with the population?

Peace is fragile and when your only form of release is in being killed or through specialized disease, what more could you hope for than a war-torn world? To make matters worse, Mioverold suffers from a disease of its own - a phenomenon known as Nilheim, that's currently eating away at its landmass at a slow pace. Now imagine a world with a decreasing landmass and increasing population. What you have is war as a necessity. It's now looked at more as a method to cull the population as well, with each Empire out for their own interests.

Yes, in my story there is a war. In fact, most of my stories have war in it (besides two which are adventure stories.)

The aftermath isn’t so much physical as it is mental for the characters. Firearms don’t exist (1150 E.C. {Eternal Calendar}) so magic and metal weapons exist for that. The leading of this war (there were many before it) was the prince of Shadia (the ones who start all the trouble) going missing, and they accuse Infini (the main country) of having him.

The aftermath was probably for the best. It did something that saved the lives of many and brought many new emotions (spoiler territory if I say anymore.)

In most of my war stories, many characters die. In this one however, they aren’t actually fighting in the war, just the occasional skirmish.

My Comic title itself screams WAR!!! ...I can't wait to draw the global conflict soon but it will take years to get there. ...So far i wanted to built up more and more of their characters, motivations, agendas etc. before the main dish will happen

My story took place right before the supposed "war" and it's just there to further the plot and escalate it so I could have one definitive ending (also to screw with my MC). What lead to it is my group of reapers shooting to make a music video as revenge for the death of their comrade.

In my comic, there was a short but very devastating war about 80 years before the current time in the story. Although the majority of the characters didn't experience it first hand, they are still dealing with the consequences, including the things that were uncovered because of that conflict (which are part of the main plot so spoiler).

In my comic there is a cold war between people who like Rum and people who like Whiskey. It's still in the development on the background and is not obvious but later iit will have some impact to the story. Which is mostly fun though))) But I don't want to spoil the rest))

Anyways, in mine, TeenParty, it uh... It takes place in the normal US in 2007 so yeah... basically every war is in there at some point xD. But human conflicts in general will have an impact in the story in general, but I can't say more, so far it starts like every good mystery story : with an investigation.

I have so many darn wars in my story that one of my readers pretty much called it warception HAHAHAHA! There's a war before the story began, the story itself started with a war, and there will be a few more wars in the future. Seriously, what is it with these people and why am I so obsessed with wars anyway? HAHAHAHA!

My comic Splitting Image has the faraway wars as most high fantasy do, between the noble houses of Aeolia, but it's far enough to not be the Great Offscreen War. Because the attacks of Dark Lords constantly got the current rulers killed, the nobles warred between themselves to be the next in line, creating the disparity of towns between the four islands (and making the capital Boreas, where you can't drop projectiles from another one into a village), and being the framing for the Novella family to rise: even though the evil sorcerers would kill off the high ranks of any other family eventually, Novellas seemed to survive catastrophic events through sheer luck, and agreed to relinquish their towns to rule the kingdom as the only ones safe from black magic wrath.

Of course, that went out of the window when King Dylan suddenly dies through it, but this stood for many centuries. In the last decades, what really matters are the tiny wars waged by Dark Lords looking to control the world; everyone's against them, but there's always one when the royal court thinks they're safe.

Our robots are fighting a war humans started. There is no choice in this for them since there are no humans around to end it and their orders are firm. It serves as the backdrop to why things are the way they are and the war is slowly creeping more and more into the MC's life.

Both of my comics include a war.

In my comic, True Power, it takes place as a war was ending and a treaty was being made. The country has two ruling powers (the Council and the king). The Council was in favor of continuing the war, the king was not so they had the king sent to Earth along with some of his allies and thus the main story of True Power takes place.

In the sequel, True Power: MS2, it's now many years after the treaty has been completed and the two countries are living mostly peacefully. The countries may be at peace, but individually they don't get along.

The reasons for the war were religious disagreement and went on for about 400 years.

In my comic, Celestial Chronicle Shion, the people of Earth came into contact with aliens. As earthlings worked on creating space travel to go say hi and visit them, the aliens came without warning and attacked Earth first. The humans don't know why they are being attacked by them outside of "they want to enslave us" (in the comic, the main character, Shion, has learned more of the reasons why, though not quite everything). In the story, it's been 61 years since the war started so it has been going on a couple of generations now.
