I've been thinking about making a Youtube channel for a while now and I'm starting to have doubts.

  1. Will my readers subscribe to my channel but not watch my videos? If that happens, my channel won't do so good

  2. Will my readers even bother to look at my channel? I made a post asking them and only four people responded

And there are probably even more things to think about that I haven't realized yet

It can be successful if you have the content to back it up, but mind you putting together animation, or even just a reel that flips through static images with a narration over it can take up a LOT of time.

It might be best just to focus on creating drawn comics for a while until you have enough support to take the time to animate some of them for a channel.

I think I'll try uploading a bit of a backlog onto Youtube and then tell my subscribers. That way I'll have some more experience when they see it.

I think it's a fine idea. I have one myself, and it's mainly to show speedpaints and to practice my writing, editing, and communication skills. It takes a while to get a following, but people will come as long as the content is good . Starting at all is a big step.

I wouldn't put exceptions on your readers subbing, I would focus on the audience you could get from YouTube.

Why do you have these doubts? If you create good content, people will watch your videos. Moreover, it doesn't cost anything if you post some videos on your youtube channel. Of course, it won't be the best quality but you should make this. I know that it is very hard to increase the numbers of viewers or subscribers on your channel but exist many companies like https://www.subscribers.video which can help you to increase your viewers with real accounts. I used them when I opened my channel and I didn't regret that I made this because it helped to have much more subscribers.

To be honest, I felt as if it's very tiring to spread ourselves out too thin what's not with all the cross-promotional efforts. At the end of day, sometimes, I ask myself, what is it that I want? More subscribers? What will happen after I finish the series? Those numbers will stay there and not do anything to help me?
