Drawing Tablet Reccomendations

for X-mas I'm going to treat myself with an actual drawing tablet instead of just using my touchscreen laptop. What's a good, cheap tablet, or, at least, what should I be looking for in one?

Get the Huion H610 Pro V2. It's under $100. The brand also has smaller, cheaper options around $30-50 if your budget is lower.

Since its your first tablet, and you're in a budget, I recommend anything from Huion.I have been using Huion 1060 Plus making my webcomic for the pass 6 months, its cheap and the quality up to par with Wacom intuous!

Trust tablets, when I was a starting artiste many moons ago, were pretty good & cheap. In comparison I had a Trust widescreen tablet for about six years, and my wacom intuos one broke in 2 years time, and there was no difference when it came to performance.

Not that I'm saying wacom is bad, but just that if you're going for the cheaper models it's pointless to get a wacom, get the cheapest with the best resolution & pressure recog. Brand doesn't matter, look at the stats.

I would say a good old wacom either intuos or intuos pro as they last for a decade : my bamboo remained by my side before diying of 7 years of loyal and intense services. RIP.
Though, there might be better options. When I brought it, there was only wacom and nothing else.

Ipad is nice but probably out of buget if you're looking for something affordable.

i'm here to third huion, it's a fantastic brand. i recently did a review on the tablet i have, but there are cheaper options (screen tablets as low as $300 CAD, regular tablets for $80 CAD)

when you can get what amounts to a small cintiq for the price of an intuos pro, with comparable quality, i don't know why anyone would buy wacom products outside of wanting the brand.

I definitely recommend the Huion 1060 Plus as well. I paid about $82 for mine and have had zero complaints. It can do anything a Wacom Intuos can, but for a third of the price, and it's honestly faster and easier to install the Huion than a Wacom. The Huion drivers all come right on the tablet's internal storage that you can install right from there, while I feel like any time I have to install Wacom drivers, I have to spend twenty minutes digging through Wacom's website and trying three different drivers before I find the right one.

The only downside to the Huion is the stylus does need to be charged, and there's no notification when the battery in it is dead, so sometimes I'll be working and the pen will die on me because I forgot to charge it for a while. But it'll go several weeks between charges no problem.
