Drop in views on Webtoon this month?

Webtoon announced that 100% of ad revenue would be given to creators in April, so I'm making an effort to update more. But so far my views have dropped 60% from last month suddenly. I usually have a consistent amount each month. Is it just a coincidence? Is it just me?
I wish Webtoon had their own forums so I could ask there instead

are you just looking at the dashboard? if so, the "last month" views are the month total. seeing as we're 50% of the way through april, this would make sense!

are you talking about Tapas? because I've seen no such announcement from LINE Webtoons lol I thiiink you're confusing LINE for Tapas. Tapas is offering 100% revenue for the month of April.

Considering LINE's only real revenue streams are Ad Rev (which you're not gonna be eligible for unless you hit like, 50k views in a month or something like that) and contract payments (if you're a featured artist) then it wouldn't be nearly as 'groundbreaking' or even necessary as Tapas' offer, seeing as how Tapas has things such as tipping and don't have as high a bar to get into Ad Rev.

Maybe I missed the memo though. But if that was legitimate confusion on your part, then it just stands as further proof of Tapas being nearly indistinguishable from LINE at this point lolol

in terms of LINE Webtoons, we're only halfway through April so it's too early to say if your stats are "going down".

My stats have been going up but it's only because I've been migrating my readers from Tapas to LINE as I'm currently trying to get myself at least halfway out the door. So my stats are the exception, not the norm lol

Yes, I noticed a huge drop too, and not only my own comic.

My comic started 1 february, and has 21k subs.
As soon as it started it had a steady growth of like 300 subs a day, average.

On April 1st I got my last subscriber count email. 21k.
Now my sub count is 21.957

I'm aware that that's still a lot but since April 1st the subs and views have been decreased a lot.

I follow another comic that started out on the 1st of February. It had 50k subs on 1 April, now 15 days later it's at 52k.

It might be the pandemic, but views on Tapas have stayed the same as usual.
So I don't know, something just seems weird.

No, Webtoons announced this to creators through email. 100% ad rev in march and april.

Personally speaking, it’s more groundbreaking for bigger artists or artists with several comics in the program.
I have two comics in their ad revenue program and if my revenue essentially doubles because I get the full share, it’s a huge help for me since it will pay my electric bill and parts of some other expenses....

My numbers are normal so far. Last month they were up due to a carousel promotion. But even without promo, my stats look like they usually do.

Could it be the category, perhaps?
My comics are comedy and light hearted (and quick to read due to strip format). Maybe people seeking something like this and shy away from more serious storylines due to the current circumstances....

No it's definitely Webtoon. They said so in an email.I earn less than nothing on Tapas, but earn something reasonable on Webtoon. But this month only there's been a very unusual drop in views and subscribers so that's frustrating since I posted a lot more than last month.

Were you maybe promoted last month (carousel or somewhere on the app?). Maybe even unknowingly. That would explain why you aren’t getting as much subs atm.
Also, did your views per update drop? Since you update more often it’s normal to have fewer views per update. But the overall views should be still normal...

No I wasn't promoted recently. I was getting the same as usual. I update more often so I would expect the monthly overall to be higher, but the month is half-passed, so I would expect half my normal monthly views. But I have maybe 25%...
But if the others are not seeing anything unusual, maybe i'm just unlucky

Oof yeah that is a bit of a drop A lot of people are seeing drops in their traffic though, it could very well be a result of the pandemic. I know some people have to work from home now so that leaves less time/mental spoons for stuff like webcomics. There are also people who have now been made to stay at home with their kids so that's been taking a chunk out of their free time lol

Try not to micromanage your stats though. I know it can be hard to see those kinds of drops but they happen to the best of us and stressing over them on the day to day won't do you any good. Just keep moving forward, you might see an influx in traffic closer to the end of the month or an improvement next month

Seems lower than normal for me. I'm basing this on my views per update number which seems lower than normal. Maybe a result of the pandemic? people are dealing with it in different ways.

OMG SAME HERE! What the hell... So last month I got like 8K subs for some reason, but now I haven't gained a single subscriber for almost two weeks and my views per update are ten times less than normal as well, while I still upload the same amount. I thought I was doing something wrong...
Edit: Well I actually know why I got that may subs, because I made my thumbnail more appealing and a reader told me I got promoted on the front page, but before all that stuff I still got like 20 subscribers a day
