Episodes updates vs New episodes?

Do episodes that are updated, but not new, get refreshed on the main page when you update them? I post my pages in large episodes, and I always feel like, they don't get much exposure on tapas. I have such a very long comic, it would be hellish to navigate through 350 pages I think, so I post them in 24 page chapters. Is this a bad idea to post like this if I want to gain followers? Do updated episodes get exposure on the front pages, or do only new episodes get that?

Only new episodes will show as updates. Existing episodes that have been updated with added pages will not, and in my opinion are more annoying to navigate through than a bunch of single pages, because tapastic will not save your place in an episode, so you have to scroll through the chapter and find where you left off.

Additionally it also give you another problem which leads to readers ignoring updates or even missing content and jumping to the next episode and not finishing the last one. This issue popping up because the edited episode notification doesn't go into their 'comic notifications' list where they usually get their updates. It goes in the activity list. (this makes it even MORE miss-able to users that have their own comics as well, as it'll be burred along with the comments and likes for their own comics and is very easily missed)

Something you can try that seems to work for people is to upload each page as an episode, and then when you have enough pages for another '25 page episode' condense all those pages into one. Unfortunately you will lose all your comments with this method.

Hm... I see. Yes i was thinking maybe when i finish this episode, I will start updating them individually then condense later. tnks.

Well now I am curious:

Most people complain updates should be longer. People cannot have frequent long updates or faster shorter ones at the same time.

How do you decide which is best?

My personal take on it is that more updates is better, because it means more exposure. Even as a reader you should want the comics you read to be getting more exposure because that's going to encourage the creator to keep making it.
Also, people who would rather read a full chapter at once can still do that if it's being released one page at a time, but the people who want regular updates can't have that if it's posted in big chunks.
Basically, the way I see it is always do what's best for the product, and for a free webcomic that's almost always going to be expanding the reader base.
