reporting back on mature content.

they didn't give me a detailed answer or examples, but basically they're reviewing NSFW content more strictly on app than on the website, so a mature scene might need a bit of polishing to fit the two platforms.
probably in an attempt to adhere to the App Store/Google Play guidlines.

that being said, i most definitely did spot a bunch of NSFW scenes on app D;
both excessive violence and sex.
no genitalia or frontal nudity that i'm aware of tho.

Thanks @rosso , that´s good to know! That sounds pretty similar to Webtoons then, especially looking at their featured series.
I´m in contact with them now, too. Their conditions look really good, I´m gonna ask some questions and then propably go ahead for an non exclusive series.

So i just have to submit my comic and see if they will accept it?

As far as I can tell that´s an option, too, yeah  !

Hey, don't mind me asking but does anyone have an idea about how much they offer?

They have a system similar to Webtoons "Beta Creator Credit" based on your Popularity on the App.

oh thank you
btw did you accept the invite? are you going to publish there?

I got an email from them a couple of weeks ago for both of my comics to be on their app. I decided to just do my fantasy one since I didn't see any comics that were pure Slice-of-life (that isn't drama or romance heavy).

In terms of communication they have been so nice and patient with me (I wanted to redraw/proofread my earlier chapters and they gave me time to do that). They're launching my comic next week so hopefully that will turn out well :pensive:🤞

Just a question, where do i have to go to ask them if i cam submit my webcomic? :3

Haven´t looked too much into it, but that sounds good ;D
I´m asking one more detail of them (what will happen in case of withdrawal of either parties), but I´ve pretty much accepted! ^^ Very excited about it. Good Luck with applying, def let me know your experience with that side of it!

Thank you
I hope the best for you too, but what do you mean by "withdrawal"?

I asked that for the non-exclusive and they said you can withdraw when you like since all the rights of the comic belong to you.

Also on another note, I told them about how I post on Patreon first, part of their non-exclusive deal is to post on webcomics before other platforms, so they said if I post on Patreon it's a 20% reduction (which was stated in the description they sent me before).
I don't mind the reduction, mainly bc most of my comic income relies on Patreon early access and I still think the extra income and audience (who might become patrons) from Webcomics is worth it.

Ah, then you are one step ahead of me ! Even though I would have liked if they included that in the Agreement you have to sign...let´s see how they reply! But it does make sense.
And I asked them about advertising my Patreon there (which is ok!), I didn´t really consider the reduction would apply for early- access on Patreon, but guess it does. Good to know -yeah, so far I´m under the impression this is a pretty good deal, too. Beneficial for both parties.

@Rizzvatt I meant if either of us decideds to withdraw from the Agreement. Hope that wasn´t worded incorectly x) English is my second language after alll...

I just signed on to be Exclusive on there. I'm really new to the comic world and for me to even build an audience would take much longer than just doing the Exclusive deal (I think ;; ). I'm actually just excited that they were interested in my comic c:

that is confidential but you'll be informed before signing on the contract so don't worry about that if you don't like the rates.

in case of non-exclusive deals, you can just leave at any time and they'll take down your work. the IP stays yours as they only have publishing rights on their platform. pretty sure the terms gotta be much different for exclusive deals.

for a platform that has barely been around for a year (or less) i think they're definitely booming!
it has a bunch of stuff to iron out, but overall their library is growing by the day, their audience engagement and incentives are to rival at least Tapas, which has been around much longer. and might i say, their staff are quite responsive and patient too.

And the fact that they've been contacting a bunch of different creators is a good indicator they're aiming to diversify their type of content too.

iunno, i think it's a good deal especially if you're a small creator and hoping to get paid for your work. you can end the deal any time and pretty much got nothing to lose for the non-exclusive deals.

The agreement I got is a letter of authorization, which means it's just permission from me to allow them to publish my work on their platform, it includes that the work does not belong to Webcomics but to me. I think that's the agreement you get for the non-exclusive.

Regarding Early access on Patreon, maybe if I explain that it's for a very limited number of people? As in they might have thought that I post on my Patreon publicly? I don't know, I'll see how I can deal with it later. Their platform is pretty big so I'm glad they're expanding into including indie creators, it's an audience that might not be on Tapas or Webtoons. It's always good to have more competition.

I got an email from them too. I'm pondering because on browser there is no author, and on app the authors are mentioned but no author profile (or is it just me? D: I can't click on them ) If so, then how and where do people advertise their patreon and other accounts? just directly on pages? (there are no chapter descriptions either)
