Favorite quirky detail in a character design or outfit?

I rem when you were tellin me about Texas' crescent moon in a past thread, lookin awesome

I could never decide a true fave detail, have to many faves
but for the moment, Evan's Pink Bunny Bag he found in the trunk of an abandoned car.
He'll eventually get new gear n outfits, so it will be missed, but since so many readers love it, I decided to keep it in series, by Evan passing it to one of the other characters in his gang (Quim)

I forgot to draw the other button in her shirt and realized it too late...

So that's why every panel where Akala is dressed in that fast food worker outfit has only one button on her shirt. For the sake of consistency...

Probably Suen’s apron, it’s a pretty anachronistic shape for an apron (though some skirts from the 1870s had similarly shaped decorations) but I’m a big fan of it vaguely resembling a squid mantle.

My favorite character costume design is the rope behind my character NEKOTO. Since she was raised by beastmen from a young age, she considers herself one of them, and that rope behind her can be seen as a tail.

There's one character from my novel named Mizu Angel, she's a cat-folk.
Her background is a mystery right now, but we can already get some information about her from her character design.

Though her colors and look do not suggest it right away, she is highly inspired by Alice in Wonderland's Cheshire Cat, hence in the story, she is called the Cheshire.

For this character, my favorite detail about her design is the way she is presented. Her design in Sugar and Smoke tells the readers that she is the "Don't care, I do what I want" type of character, it's evident in her messy visual patterns. But despite that, somehow she's also a person who specializes in the field of medicine, a highly skilled one at that.

So... when the traits "I don't care enough" and "I'm a healer" are mixed together (along with later character related contexts in the story), we get this character whose personality contradicts her skills and obligations.

Yes, her patients are afraid of her, yet somehow she is still respected as a healer. (At least, that's the case for now at this point in the story).

I like how Hailey and Hannahs’ designs reflect each other. For example their eye shadow is on opposite eyes and they wear fishnets on the opposite parts of their bodies.

Characters from the surface have clothing decorated with living things (i.e. animals, monsters, flowers, or leafs) while characters from the Abyss will have spiral patterns and swirls as decoration. This is due to the fact that there are not a lot of plants in the Abyss. In univerve origin is that Alex’s ancestors used to have fern shoots as a family symbol and throughout the century, it was simplified and gained life of its own. Out of universe, it is because I wanted another cultural marker to differentiate the Abyssal, and I had vague memories of that one junji Ito story about spirals(I never actually read it), and at the time I was going for a creepier eldritch abyss.

Fun fact: There was a victorian craze all about ferns, Pteridomania.

Chili's big nose and eye circles. I was inspired by Akira from Devilman Crybaby and Lapis Lazuli from SU. I know it's quite a weird combination.

His entire jewelry set may or may not be a container of something. Also, everyone would notice the skin and eye colors differences. The leftmost one shows his basic colors, he just tans easily and wear some magic equivalent of colored contacts.

I’m still proud of the design of my protagonist Reina’s jacket. To me, jackets are like the ultimate clothing for individual expression, and I love giving my characters one as a signature if I can. I don’t know if the bit here is clever or dumb fun but I’ll take it either way, because she is the queen of king fu! 🥋
