Feedback Request for Resonance of Her Melody – Looking for Honest Thoughts!

I've recently started publishing my story Resonance of Her Melody here on Tapas, and I'd love to hear your honest feedback.

The story follows Leon, a talented volleyball player whose dreams are crushed by an injury. But one night, he wakes up inside the world of his favorite novel—where the tragic ending still awaits. Now, he has a second chance—not just to play the game he loves, but to change the fate of the characters he once admired from afar.

This is my first time writing in the romance genre, so I’m genuinely looking for insight, feedback, and critique—especially pacing, character chemistry, and story flow.

I'm especially interested in:

Your first impressions of the main characters

The pacing and emotional resonance of the early chapters

Whether the writing style pulls you in or needs improvement

Anything that confused or disconnected you from the story

I can't comment on the writing, because I haven't made it that far yet, but...

Right out of the gate, a reverse image search of your cover results in a Pixabay match with your cover image that says "Download AI Generated, Girl, Futuristic." AI generated content isn't allowed on Tapas. If you see other stories with AI covers, it's because they haven't been reported yet. Then when I click on "exact matches" for your cover, dozens of other stories, Youtube videos, Spotify songs, etc. all pop up using the same image. Your story doesn't stand out amongst them.

So, before even reading a thing, you've already made a bad first impression.

Like the person above me said, Tapas does not allow AI generated images. You should probably change it before it gets reported. If the cover is AI I will assume the writing is too, and I’m not the only one thinking like this.

Yeah thanks for confirming that buddy, the thing is I don't have a proper story cover and I don't know what to do since I don't know how to make cover when I saw Canva it suggested me to make from their but. I guess it still have issues I was wondering if what I did was wrong or right but you saved my neck by alerting me and please don't judge this Book by its cover I worked Hard to write so don't let the cover thing leave bad taste for the story perspective, I will change the cover and illustrations ASAP and I will be waiting for your thoughts on the story

Hey, I appreciate your concern, but the story is fully written by me. The cover was just a visual placeholder—I'm already working on a new one to follow platform rules. Please don’t judge the work without actually reading it.

Also, I’m not sure who you’re referring to when you say, 'I’m not the only one thinking this,' but if that’s meant as a general perspective, all I’ll say is this: It’s wild how confident some people are in their assumptions—especially when they haven’t read a single word.
