Fight scenes in vertical scroll layout?

Just need some advice on pacing.

I took some of my thumbnails, blew them up and put them into a vertical strip to get an idea of how it'll read eventually.

How much gutter space should or shouldn't I be leaving?

Does anyone have and examples or tips for fights in vertical format?
Or fights in general. I believe this is the first time I've actually roughed out a fight scene that wasn't just one action pose.

You can study the webtoons "God of High School" and "Gosu", both are on Line Webtoons and have great examples of fight on vertical scrolling format!

i will point out that if you read scrolling comics on a pc the gutters can look huge at times, sometimes pages feel they are never going to end. just thought it was something for you to consider.

I wonder if this would be helpful... This is a study of mine. I'm not sure about the gutter space but found it interesting to work outside the panels too +playing with those action lines(?) was fun too; making it run and head downwards as the reader will be scrolling down.

i noticed for action scene the smaller the gutter the better the sequence is.
things happen instantaneously during a fight. so i wouldn't put a huge space between panels unless there is a good reason for it (like a surprise attack? a twist? super-mega-ultra awesome comeback that readers must brace for it first...etc)

also you may wanna experiment with panel shapes to give the illusion of motion and whatnot.

Thank you for getting me hooked on Gosu. Haven't had the chance to start "God of High School" yet.

I'm noticing massive gutters devoted to speech balloons, and lots of small panels.

It does help me worry about it less. Though I don't have a smartphone to check it out on. (I use a simple old flip phone)

It looks quite fast paced because of how there are no defined panels. I can't make out the text though D;

This was the conclusion I came to. Though I imagine it'll be hard to pull off unless I just bite the bullet and do it badly a few times.

I tend to be quite conservative with panel shape, so I'll keep that in mind.
